Justin Hamilton (born July 27, 1993) is an American football defensive tackle. He played college football at Louisiana. Hamilton signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2015 and has also been a member of several other NFL teams. Early years Hamilton attended Natchez High School in Natchez, Mississippi where he was a two-way tackle. As a junior, he received All-metro honors. As a senior, he tallied 40 tackles, 4 sacks, 4 tackles for loss, 5 quarterback hurries, 2 forced fumbles and one fumble recovery, while receiving All-state honors. He committed to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. College career As a true freshman, he was a backup defensive tackle, making 8 tackles (6 solo) and 2 sacks. A fumble in gridiron football occurs when a player who has possession and control of the ball loses it before being downed (tackled), scoring, or going out of bounds. By rule, it is any act other than passing, kicking, punting, or successful handing that results in loss of ball possession by a player. A fumble may be forced by a defensive player who either grabs or punches the ball or butts the ball with their helmet (a move called "tackling the ball"). Tyrone Crawford (born November 22, 1989) is a Canadian former professional defensive end in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys. A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. In American football, the dime defense is a defensive alignment that uses six defensive backs. It is usually employed in obvious passing situations. The formation usually consists of six defensive backs, usually two safeties, and four cornerbacks, and has either four down linemen and one linebacker, or three down linemen and two linebackers. This formation is used to prevent the offense from completing a medium- to long-range pass play. This may be because the offense's running game is inefficient, time is an issue, or they need a long pass for a first down. It is also used against teams whose pass-to-run ratio predominantly favors pass.
