Charles Henry Bryan
Charles Henry Bryan (October 20, 1822 – May 14, 1877) was a politician and jurist in California, who served as an associate justice of the California Supreme Court. Biography Bryan was born on October 20, 1822, in Ellicottville, New York. By 1833, the family moved to Ohio. He was well educated and read law. His father, John A. Bryan, was a United States diplomat, and his brother-in-law, John B. Weller, was a United States Senate, United States Senator and Governor of California. In September 1851, Bryan ran for District Attorney of Yuba County, California, Yuba County against incumbent Jesse O. Goodwin. In June 1852, he was elected a delegate to the state Democratic Party (United States), Democratic convention held in Benicia, California, on July 20, 1852. In 1854, Bryan was elected as a Democratic member of the California State Senate from the California's 15th State Senate district, 15th Senatorial district. George Bryan
George Bryan (1731January 27, 1791) was an Irish/American Pennsylvania businessman, and politician of the Revolutionary era. He served as the first vice-president of Pennsylvania (analogous to lieutenant governor) and its second president (governor) following the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain. He was an early abolitionist and sponsored the bill which helped bring about abolition in Philadelphia. He also served as a judge of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Early life and family Bryan was born at Old Bridge, Church Street, Dublin in the Kingdom of Ireland on August 11, 1731, to a merchant. He emigrated to Philadelphia in 1752 to join a business partnership arranged by his father. That partnership soon came to an end, but Bryan went on to become a successful businessman, both as a retailer and as an importer and exporter. He married Elizabeth Smith in 1757. William Shepard Bryan
William Shepard Bryan (November 20, 1827 – December 9, 1906) was a Maryland lawyer who served as a justice of the Maryland Court of Appeals from 1883 to 1898. Early life, education, and career Born in New Bern, North Carolina, he was the son of Congressman John Heritage Bryan. Bryan "received his early general and education in the South". He graduated from the University of North Carolina and read law under the supervision of his father. He moved to Baltimore in 1850, and read law to gain admission to the bar in Maryland in 1851, thereafter entering the practice of law. He was a southern sympathizer during the American Civil War, and was a presidential elector in the 1876 United States presidential election.
