Justann Crawford
Justann John Crawford (born July 24, 1973) is a retired indigenous Australian Olympic boxer. Justann earned 9 international gold medals and represented Australia at the 1992, 1996 Olympic Games and 1994 Commonwealth Games. He also held 9 Australian boxing titles mainly in the middleweight division, or in the light heavyweight division. Justann Crawford's boxing career was cut short because of an eye injury and mild brain damage in 1998 at age 25. However, he was one of the first few indigenous Australians to compete in the Olympic Games. His commitment to boxing has put him in the Aboriginal and Islander Sports Hall of Fame to recognise his multiple international titles in representing Australia as an aboriginal. Walker Smith Jr. (May 3, 1921 – April 12, 1989), better known as Sugar Ray Robinson, was an American professional boxer who competed from 1940 to 1965. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1990. He is often regarded as the greatest boxer of all time, Pound for pound, pound-for-pound. Robinson was a dominant amateur, but his exact amateur record is not known. It is usually listed as 85–0 with 69 knockouts, 40 in the first round. The Unified Team at the 1992 Summer Olympics (russian: Объединённая команда на летних Олимпийских играх 1992) in Barcelona, Spain, was a joint team consisting of twelve of the fifteen former Soviet Union republics that chose to compete together. Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania competed separately. The team has been informally called the Commonwealth of Independent States team, though Georgia was not yet a member of the CIS when it competed as part of the Unified Team. It competed under the IOC country code EUN (from the French ). A total of 475 competitors, 310 men and 165 women, took part in 234 events in 27 sports. Aleksandr Borisovich Lebziak (russian: Александр Борисович Лебзяк, born 15 April 1969) is a Russian boxer, who won the Gold medal in the men's Light Heavyweight (81 kg) category at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. Jeff Harding (born 5 February 1965 in Sydney) is a retired world champion boxer from Australia, known as "Hit Man". Harding lived in South Grafton N.S.W. Australia and was a student at South Grafton High School. He trained with Steve Cansdell in Grafton before relocating to Sydney where he was first trained by John Lewis at the Newtown Police Boys' Club from where he won his first amateur title (NSW State).
