Jurongville Secondary School
Jurongville Secondary School (JVSS) (Chinese: 丰嘉中学) located at Jurong East Avenue 1 was established on 15 December 1993. The pioneer group of 9 teachers, with the addition of 15 more teachers later in the year, formed the nucleus of the new school. The first Principal was Sun Huey Min, who was also the incumbent Principal of Commonwealth Secondary School (CSS) at that time. She served as the school's principal from December 1993 to December 1995. In January 1994, JVSS, housed within Commonwealth Secondary itself, opened its doors to 507 Secondary One pupils, spread over 14 classes - 6 Express, 5 Normal Academic and 3 Normal Technical. In December 1995, Mohd Khairunan took over as the next Principal. However, it bid farewell to CSS which was to be relocated to new premises. Commonwealth Secondary School (abbreviation: CWSS) is a government, autonomous and coeducational secondary school in Jurong East, Singapore. Founded in 1964, Commonwealth Secondary School offers secondary school education which leads to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level or Singapore-Cambridge GCE Normal Level examination. Tanglin Secondary School Commonwealth Secondary School began as Tanglin Integrated Vocational Secondary School in 1964 and became an academic institution named Tanglin Secondary in 1969. In 1972, the name was changed again to Commonwealth Secondary School since it was situated near Commonwealth Drive. The school relocated to Jurong East in 1989 and functioned as a neighbourhood school in the Hong Kah constituency for seven years before moving to Jurong East Street 24 of the Yuhua Constituency at the end of 1995. Hong Kah Group Representation Constituency was a five-member Group Representation Constituency located in the western area of Singapore. The constituency covered the areas of Bukit Batok, Choa Chu Kang, Upper Bukit Timah, Jurong West and Lim Chu Kang. Hong Kah GRC was formed in 1988 and eventually dissolved and reformed into Chua Chu Kang GRC in 2011. It had always been held by the People's Action Party. Lim Boon Heng
Lim Boon Heng (; born 18 November 1947) is a Singaporean former politician. A former member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he was a Member of Parliament (MP) between 1980 and 2011, and had served in the Cabinet between 2001 and 2011. He also served as Chairman of the People's Action Party between 2004 and 2011. The Jurong Group Representation Constituency is a five-member Group Representation Constituency located in the western area of Singapore.
