Jurong East Stadium
Jurong East Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Jurong East, Singapore. It is opened from 7am to 7.30pm. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Albirex Niigata Singapore FC and Tanjong Pagar United. The stadium holds 2,700 people and opened in 1998. It is one of only three stadiums in Singapore that does not have a running track, and was built to serve only as a football stadium. Location The stadium is located in Jurong East, but it is closer to Chinese Garden MRT station. History The stadium was built in 1988,and till now, serves as the home stadium for Albirex Niigata Singapore FC. From 2020, Tanjong Pagar United also uses the stadium as its home stadium. Jurong East
Jurong East is a planning area and residential town situated in the West Region of Singapore. It borders Jurong West and Boon Lay to the west, Clementi to the east, Tengah and Bukit Batok to the north and Selat Jurong to the south. First developed in the 1970s, it is located approximately west of the Downtown Core district. Jurong East is the 7th most populated planning area in the West Region. Jurong East, along with the entire Jurong area in general, is envisioned to be the country's second central business district (CBD) as part of the Jurong Lake District project. Chinese Garden MRT Station
Chinese Garden MRT station is an above-ground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the East West line in Jurong East, Singapore. It primarily serves the residential estate of Yuhua, as well as the various tourist attractions in Jurong Lake, including the Chinese Garden, where the station derived its name from. The roof of Chinese Garden station is based on traditional Chinese architectural design. History The station was opened on 5 November 1988, as part of the first portion of Phase 2 of the MRT system. As with most of the stations along the East West line, it was built with platform screen doors to prevent commuters from falling onto the train tracks. Albirex Niigata Singapore FC, abbreviated as Albirex Niigata (S), is a Singaporean football club that plays in the Singapore Premier League. The club is a satellite team of Albirex Niigata of Japan. Tanjong Pagar United Football Club is a professional football club that competes in the Singapore Premier League, the top division of football in Singapore. The club took part in S.League from 1996 to 2004, and from 2011 to 2014. The club withdrew from the league after the 2004 season because of financial problems, but returned in 2011, with several similar breaks meanwhile. The club also has its women's section. The club has since returned from 2020 onwards. East West MRT Line
The East West line (EWL) is a high-capacity Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line operated by SMRT in Singapore, running from Pasir Ris station in the east to Tuas Link station in the west, with an additional branch between Changi Airport and Tanah Merah stations. It is the second Mass Rapid Transit line to be built in Singapore. The line is the longest on the MRT network (this title will be given to the Cross Island line upon its complete opening by the 2040s), with 35 stations, 8 of which (from Lavender to Tiong Bahru and Changi Airport stations) are underground.
