Juniper Lane
Juniper Lane is a five-piece rock band from the Washington, DC area. The ''Washington Post'' has referred to Juniper Lane as "the total package," playing "polished, radio-ready rock." Washington, D.C.'s entertainment magazine, ''OnTap'', described Juniper Lane's music as being "ready to kick radio and live ass." The band was founded by vocalist/pianist, Vivion, and guitarist, Chris, who met in college at the University of Virginia and started writing music together after graduating and moving to Washington, D.C. Soon after, the band grew to include drummer Eddie, and bassist Freddy. In 2008, John joined the band. Their debut album, ''Counting,'' was released in 1999 and was followed up with ''Tightrope'' and ''Sirens From a Mile Back.'' Following the release of Sirens, Vivion was involved in a nearly fatal rock-climbing accident. Mitchell Blake Easter (born November 15, 1954) is a musician, songwriter, and record producer. Frequently associated with the jangle pop style of guitar music, he is known as producer of R.E.M.'s early albums from 1981 through 1984, and as frontman of the 1980s band Let's Active. Early life Easter was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and became deeply involved in music from an early age. He attended the University of North Carolina from 1974 until his graduation in 1978. He played in a number of school bands, some of them with his childhood friend Chris Stamey (later of The dB's). Remy Zero
Remy Zero was an American alternative rock band from Birmingham, Alabama, formed in 1989. It was composed of August Cinjun Tate (vocals, guitar), Shelby Tate (guitar, vocals, keyboards), Cedric LeMoyne (bass), Jeffrey Cain (guitar, vocals), and Louis Schefano (drums), who was later replaced by Gregory Slay (drums, percussion). History Before Remy Zero had released any full-length albums, Radiohead found their demo tape and invited them to be part of the US tour for ''The Bends (album), The Bends''. Modest Mouse
Modest Mouse is an American rock band formed in 1992 in Issaquah, Washington, and currently based in Portland, Oregon. The founding members are lead singer/guitarist Isaac Brock, drummer Jeremiah Green, and bassist Eric Judy. Strongly influenced by Pavement, Pixies, XTC, and Talking Heads, they rehearsed, rearranged, and recorded demos for almost two years before finally signing with small-town indie label K Records and releasing numerous singles. Since their 1996 debut album, ''This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About'', the band's lineup has mostly centered on Brock and Green, undergoing multiple changes. Army Of Me (band)
Army of Me is a band formed in Washington, D.C. History Vocalist and guitarist Vince Scheuerman grew up in a Gaithersburg, Maryland religious community. Feeling frustrated with mainstream culture, he turned to music as an outlet. Scheuerman and long-time friend John Hutchins, bass, joined a ska band, Sidewinders SC, but quit to start their own project. The pair formed Cactus Patch in 2001 with drummer Dennis Manuel. Under the name Cactus Patch, they self-released 3 EPs on CD-Rs and one self-titled album. They changed their name to ''Army of Me'' not long after winning the WHFS Big Break contest which granted them an opening slot at the 2001 HFStival. The band's reputation in the Washington, DC area grew through street team promotion, active touring and multiple years playing the street stage at the HFStival. Recher Theatre
The Recher is a concert venue in Towson, Maryland. It is located at 512 York Road in the building previously operated as the Towson Theatre, a one-screen movie theater. The Towson Theatre was designed by architect John Ahlers of the George Norbury MacKenzie III architectural firm. It cost $100,000 to build and opened on March 1, 1928. The theatre was sold to the Recher family in the 1950s, who continued running the cinema into the 1990s. They then converted it into an upscale billiard parlor. The building was later transformed into The Recher Theatre, a concert venue, which opened in 1999.
