Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 was the seventeenth edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest, organised by Telewizja Polska (TVP) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). It was held on 24 November 2019, at the Gliwice Arena in Gliwice, Poland, following the country's victory at the contest in Minsk, Belarus, with the song " Anyone I Want to Be", performed by Roksana Węgiel. It was the first time Poland had hosted the contest, as well as the first Eurovision event to be held in the country since the Eurovision Young Dancers 2013. Nineteen countries participated in the contest, with taking part for the first time since , while and did not return to the contest after having participated in 2018. Last year's winner Roksana Węgiel performed her entry again as the interval act, alongside the common song "Share the Joy" sung by all the participants and a dance performance by the host Ida Nowakowska. Gliwice Arena
Gliwice Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Gliwice, Poland. It provides 13,752 seats in the stands (with room for up to 17,178 spectators) in the main arena and is considered one of the largest entertainment and sports halls in the country. Initially, the venue was given the name "Podium Hall", which was later changed to "Hala Gliwice". Since opening in May 2018, this name is used interchangeably with the name "Arena Gliwice" which is used for international events. Construction The construction of the hall began in 2013 following the demolition of the former stadium. Initially, the city was counting on financial support from the European Union, but after the refusal, it was decided to finance the construction from the city's budget. TVP1
TVP1 (TVP Jeden, ''Program I Telewizji Polskiej'', ''"Jedynka"'') is the main public television channel of TVP (Telewizja Polska S.A.), Poland's national television broadcaster. It was the first Polish channel to be broadcast and remains one of the most popular today. TVP1 was launched 25 October 1952. History TVP1 was launched as of 25 October 1952 as TV Polska. The tests resumed in the immediate post-war years and materialized in October 1952 with the launch of the first experimental broadcasts of Polish television. In January 1953, it broadcasts at the rate of half an hour per week, then an hour and a half in March. TVP Info
TVP Info is a Polish free-to-air television news channel, run by the public broadcaster, state media TVP. It is focused on newscasts, airing nationwide news bulletins from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Its main offices are located at the TVP news compound in central Warsaw. TVP Info replaced TVP3 and was launched October 2007. It has regional branches in most of the major Polish cities and, similarly to France 3 in France or Rai Tre in Italy, for a couple of hours every day it broadcasts regional programming, including local news and reports in sixteen versions. These were transferred to the revived TVP Regionalna (which later was renamed TVP3 again) in September 2013. Astana, previously known as Akmolinsk, Tselinograd, Akmola, and most recently Nur-Sultan, is the capital city of Kazakhstan.
