Junior (LaFontaines Album)
''Junior'' is the third studio album by Scottish hip hop and rock band The LaFontaines. It was released on 14 June 2019 by SO Recordings. Described. as more charged, energised and socially aware as ever. The album has received critical acclaim by both fans and critics. Release The band released single "Up" in the summer of 2018 before playing the opening set on the main stage at day two of TRNSMT festival. The song was played on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show on 18 July 2018 The second official single from ''Junior'' was "All In" which dropped on 12 March 2019 and debuted the band's new line up with Jamie Kennan taking lead vocals for the songs' choruses. The song was released via SO Recordings also marking the band's first release through the independent label. The third single from the album was "Alpha" which released to all platforms on 21 May 2019. The LaFontaines
The LaFontaines are a rock band from Motherwell, Scotland. Their line up consists of Kerr Okan (vocals), Jamie Keenan (drums, vocals) and Darren McCaughey (guitars, production). The band was formed in 2008 and have released three studio albums: ''Class'', ''Common Problem'', and ''Junior''. History Formation (2008–2012) The band played their first concert at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut on 26 June 2008 opening for American rap duo The Cool Kids. They then went on to build a local following with shows supporting Beardyman, N-Dubz, Chiddy Bang, Mongrel and Example and Festival appearances at RockNess and Live at Loch Lomond. In 2011, John Gerard replaced bassist Anna Smith and the band embarked on their first tour of the UK supporting Twin Atlantic. TRNSMT
TRNSMT (pronounced as "Transmit") is a music festival staged at Glasgow Green in Glasgow, Scotland, organised by DF Concerts. History An early line-up for the first TRNSMT festival was revealed in January 2017, two months after the announcement that T in the Park (also organised by DF Concerts) would not be staged that year. The first festival took place over three days in July 2017 and the organisers said that 120,000 people attended. Shortly after the first festival concluded, a second event was announced for the following year. In November 2017, the festival organisers announced a change of date. The 2018 event was held over six days, split over two weekends. In 2019 the event returned to being three days covering a single weekend, with a daily capacity of 50,000. Annie Mac (born 18 July 1978), is an Irish DJ, broadcaster and writer. She hosted a variety of shows on BBC Radio 1, including BBC Switch and ''Future Sounds''. She also DJed in various locations, including hosting her AMP (Annie Mac Presents) Lost and Found venues in places like Ibiza. Personal life Annie Mac was born in Dublin, Ireland on 18 July 1978. After attending Wesley College in Dublin, she studied English literature at Queen's University Belfast, Northern Ireland. Annie lives in Queen's Park, London. She has a son (born May 2013) with her husband DJ Toddla T. She gave birth to her second child on 6 January 2017. While she was on maternity leave her radio show was presented by MistaJam and then Mac returned to the station on 12 June 2017.
