Jungle (Kiss Song)
"Jungle" is a song by the American rock band Kiss (band), Kiss from their 1997 studio album ''Carnival of Souls: The Final Sessions''. It was also released as the album's promotional single and was later included on the 2014 compilation album ''Kiss 40'', which featured a track from every Kiss album. Although Kiss never performed the track live, it would be performed in later years by Bruce Kulick and Eric Singer as part of Eric Singer Project and was included on the ESP ''Live at the Marquee DVD''. Background and composition "Jungle" is the sixth track on the band's 1997 studio album ''Carnival of Souls: The Final Sessions''. It was written by Paul Stanley together with Bruce Kulick and Curtis Cuomo. With a running time of 6:49, "Jungle" is the longest song that Kiss has ever recorded on a studio album. Eric Singer
Eric Singer (born Eric Doyle Mensinger; May 12, 1958) is an American drummer. Associated with the hard rock band Kiss since 1991, he has also performed with artists such as Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Lita Ford, Badlands, Brian May and Gary Moore as well as his own band ESP. In his career, Singer has appeared on over 75 albums and 11 EPs. Early career Singer was born Eric Doyle Mensinger in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up in Euclid, Ohio. He graduated from Euclid High School in 1976. His father, Johnny Mensinger, was of Jewish German descent and was a local big band leader who played around the area as well as on cruise ships from the States to Europe and back. Eric's brother Jon Mensinger was a principal dancer for the Mark Morris Dance Group in New York. "Shine" is the debut single by American alternative rock band Collective Soul. It served as the lead single for their 1993 debut album ''Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid''. "Shine" would remain the band's most well known song and a hallmark of 1990s alternative rock. It became the number one Album Rock Song of 1994, and won a ''Billboard'' award for Top Rock Track. The song also reached the top of the ''Billboard'' Album Rock Tracks chart for eight weeks. The song then went on to peak at number 11 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 for one week. VH1 would later rank "Shine" at number 42 on their list of the "100 Greatest Songs of the '90s". Collective Soul
Collective Soul is an American rock band originally from Stockbridge, Georgia. Now based in Atlanta, the group consists of lead vocalist Ed Roland, rhythm guitarist Dean Roland, bassist Will Turpin, drummer Johnny Rabb, and lead guitarist Jesse Triplett. Formed in 1992, the original lineup consisted of the Roland brothers, Turpin, guitarist Ross Childress, and drummer Shane Evans. Collective Soul released their ''Hints, Allegations, and Things Left Unsaid'' album on the independent label Rising Storm Records in 1993. The band went from obscurity to popularity that year after the album's lead single " Shine" received regional radio play. Eric Singer Project
The Eric Singer Project (ESP) is an American rock band. It was founded in the 1990s by Eric Singer, drummer for rock bands such as Lita Ford, Black Sabbath, Badlands, Alice Cooper, and Kiss, along with Bruce Kulick (Kiss, Grand Funk Railroad) on guitar, John Corabi (the Scream, Mötley Crüe, Ratt) on guitar and bass, and Karl Cochran on guitar and bass. Vocals duties were shared by Eric, John, and Karl. As of 2007, ESP has released three albums and one DVD. The first album is an all-covers album, titled ''Lost and Spaced''. Released in 1998, the album is hard to find and is composed mostly of studio recordings and demos. The second album (1999) is also an all-covers offering, titled ''ESP''. ''Kiss 40'' (also known as ''Kiss 40 Years: Decades of Decibels'') is a compilation released by Kiss to celebrate the band's 40th anniversary. Information The album contains one track from every album the band has released over their 40-year career including live albums, the 1978 solo albums, as well as songs from compilations and from the three instant live albums, which are commercially available for the first time. There is one unreleased song: "Reputation". The album is the first released by the band since their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. A limited-edition Best Buy exclusive version was released that came with a T-shirt. The Japanese edition features an exclusive track, "Hell or Hallelujah (Live at Budokan 2013)".
