"Jump in the Pool" is the second single by Friendly Fires taken from the band's self-titled debut album ''Friendly Fires''. It was first made available as a single on iTunes on 1 September 2008, the same day the album was released, along with a promotional video. There was also a hand numbered, one sided white label 7" (limited to 250 copies). It was released as a 12" vinyl and a download EP on 18 May 2009. It is the theme tune to the BBC's Final Score for the 2009/10 Football Season. Australian singer LENKA also recorded a cover for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge, which was then put on the album "Live Lounge 4". Friendly Fires
Friendly Fires are an English indie rock band from St Albans, Hertfordshire, England. They are currently signed to XL Recordings. Their self-titled debut album was released on 1 September 2008, and was announced as one of the shortlisted twelve for the 2009 Mercury Prize on 21 July 2009. History Friendly Fires met at St Albans School. At the age of 13, in year eight and nine (the second or third year), the members formed their first band, a post-hardcore outfit called First Day Back, covering songs by Green Day and other rock-like artists, which existed until they began university. During this time, lead singer Ed Macfarlane released his own music (under his own name) through the electronica label Skam, and Precinct Recordings. ''Friendly Fires'' is the debut album from British band Friendly Fires. It was released in the UK on 1 September 2008 where it reached a peak of number 21 on the UK Albums Chart. All tracks were produced by Ed Macfarlane apart from the first track, "Jump in the Pool", which was produced by Paul Epworth. The album was re-released on 31 August 2009 with the addition of five highly sought after remixes of the album's original tracks, plus three new tracks: "Bored of Each Other", "Relationships" and " Kiss of Life", the latter of which was also produced by Paul Epworth.
