Julián Álvarez (footballer)
Julián Álvarez (born 31 January 2000) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester City and the Argentina national team. Nicknamed ''La Araña'' ("The Spider"), he is known for his pressing, dynamic scoring ability, and link-up play. Club career River Plate Álvarez joined River Plate from Atlético Calchín in 2016, notably participating in the Generation Adidas Cup with the club's youth teams. Prior to signing for River, Álvarez had trials with Boca Juniors and Real Madrid; scoring twice in five games for the latter in a youth tournament. He was unable to join Real due to age restrictions. The Generation Adidas Cup (previously known as the SUM U-17 Cup) is a competition run by Major League Soccer for all U-17 MLS academy teams. As part of the Homegrown Initiative, the Generation Adidas Cup focused on player development while providing elite competition for those involved. Club Alianza Lima, popularly known as Alianza Lima or simply Alianza, is a Peruvian professional sports club based in La Victoria District of Lima, Peru. The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as the Copa Libertadores de América ( pt, Copa Libertadores da América), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. Rodrigo Nicanor Mora Núñez (born 29 October 1987) is a former Uruguayan professional footballer who played as a striker. Club career Born in Rivera, Mora started his professional career with modest Juventud de Las Piedras. In 2008, aged 20, he signed for top division outfit Defensor Sporting. The 2018–19 Argentine Primera División – Superliga Argentina (officially the Superliga Quilmes Clásica for sponsorship reasons) was the 129 season of top-flight professional football in Argentina. The season began on 10 August 2018 and ended on 7 April 2019. Boca Juniors were the defending champions. Twenty-six teams competed in the league, twenty-four returning from the 2017–18 season and two promoted from the 2017–18 Primera B Nacional ( Aldosivi and San Martín (T)).
