Åke Leif Julin (13 October 1919 – 25 September 2008) was a Swedish water polo player and swimmer. He was part of Swedish teams that finished fifth and ninth at the 1948 and 1952 Summer Olympics, respectively. At club level, Julin represented Stockholms KK. As a swimmer, he won the Swedish championship titles on 200 metre and 400 metre freestyle at the 1939 Swedish Swimming Championships, representing Stockholms KK. Albert Lindsay Von Julin
Albert Ludvig Lindsay von Julin (2 August 1871 – 8 May 1944) was a Finnish engineer, businessman and vuorineuvos. Julin was born in Pohja to an industrial family. After his studies he spent several years gaining work experience in Caucasus, after which he returned to Finland to manage his family business, the Fiskars company. Julin led the company for almost 40 years and grew it into one of the largest companies in Finland. Julin also had a significant role in creating the Finnish employers' associations. He took part in the last Diet of Finland in 1904–1905 and in local politics in Pohja. Erik Julin
Erik Julin (13 November 1796 – 21 June 1874) was a Finnish apothecary, shipowner and industrialist. After his studies Julin continued his father's pharmacy in Turku. He started a shipping business which first operated locally and later overseas. Julin was founding owner of Russo-Finnish Whaling Company and significant owner of Turku shipbuilders Åbo Skeppswarf and W:m Crichton & C:o. Julin initiated foundation of the first voluntary fire brigade of Finland and he developed actively the financial sector. Early years and studies Julin was born in Oulu, Ostrobothnia. Harald Julin
Harald Sigfrid Alexander Julin (27 March 1890 – 31 July 1967) was a Swedish swimmer and water polo player who competed at the 1906, 1908, 1912 and 1920 Olympics. In 100 m freestyle swimming he won a bronze medal in 1908, and failed to reach the finals in 1906 and 1912; he finished fifth in the 4×250 m freestyle relay in 1906. In water polo he won bronze medals in 1908 and 1920 and a silver at the 1912 Summer Olympics in his native Stockholm. His sons Åke and Rolf also became Olympic water polo players. Julle came from a rich family. Besides water sports he was a fan of motor racing, working as a secretary of the Royal Automobile Club and helping organize several racing events. Jessica Carola Julin (born 6 December 1978) is a Finnish former footballer who played in either defence or midfield. She spent several seasons in the Swedish Damallsvenskan representing UmeÃ¥ IK, Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC, AIK and Stattena IF. After making her debut for the Finland women's national football team in 1997, Julin won 118 caps and participated at UEFA Women's Euro 2005 and UEFA Women's Euro 2009. A Swedish–speaking Finn, Julin was born on Finland's Independence Day. She grew up in Jakobstad. After moving to Sweden and playing for UmeÃ¥ IK in 1998 and 1999, Julin accepted a scholarship to University of South Carolina and played varsity soccer from 2000 to 2002. John Von Julin
Johan (''John'') Jacob Julin, (since 1849 von Julin; 5 August 1787 – 11 March 1853) was a Swedo-Finnish pharmacist, factory owner and ''vuorineuvos''. His son was Albert von Julin, a businessman and also a ''vuorineuvos''. Through his daughter Hélène, he was also the maternal grandfather of Gustaf Mannerheim, the Marshal of Finland. John, like his father Johan Julin (1752–1820) and younger brother Erik Julin (1796–1874), became a pharmacist. He practiced in his father's pharmacy in Oulu and went to Sweden in 1806 to study chemistry and practice in pharmacies. John Julin graduated as a pharmacist in 1808 and as a pharmacist in 1810. Magda Julin (née ''Mauroy'', 24 July 1894 – 21 December 1990) was a Swedish figure skater who competed in ladies' singles. She was the 1920 Olympic champion, a two-time Nordic champion, and a three-time Swedish national champion. She was four months pregnant at the 1920 Olympics. Life and career Julin was a daughter of the French music producer Edouard Mauroy. The family moved to Sweden when she was 7 years old. She worked as a waitress and later ran a café and then a restaurant until 1971. She was married to the sea captain F. E. Julin, who was 15 years older.
