Julien Robert
Julien Robert (born 11 December 1974 in Grenoble) is a retired French biathlete. As a member of the French team, he won bronze at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. He also has two medals from World Championships: gold in Pokljuka in 2001, and bronze in Oberhof in 2004. He was married to French Olympic Champion Florence Baverel-Robert Florence Baverel (born 24 May 1974 in Pontarlier, Doubs), is a retired French biathlete who competed in the biathlon at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. Pokljuka
The Pokljuka Plateau () is a forested karst plateau at an elevation of around , located in the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia. The plateau is known for its forests, mountain pastures (Javornik, Lipanca, Uskovnica, Zajamniki, etc.), and winter sports facilities. It is also a common starting point for mountain hikers. The yearly Biathlon World Cup meets are held at the Pokljuka Biathlon Center, west of the town of Bled ( by car). Pokljuka is part of Triglav National Park. Administratively, it belongs to the municipalities of Bled, Bohinj, and Gorje. Many beech and fir trees were chopped down in the 18th century for the iron foundries in Bohinj.
