Julie Anne Tarroja (born February 1, 1983), professionally billed as Julianne/ Julianne Tarroja, is a Filipina singer-songwriter. She released her first album, ''Grateful'', in 2007. She won the awards for Best Performance by a Female Recording Artist (for "Tulak ng Bibig") and Best Performance by a New Female Recording Artist (for "Grateful") at the 21st Awit Awards in 2008. Sitti Katrina Baiddin Navarro-Ramirez (born November 29, 1984 in Las Piñas), known professionally as Sitti, is a Filipino bossa nova singer. After releasing her first album, ''Café Bossa'', in 2006, other bossa nova acts in the Philippines followed. Navarro was also featured in the segment "A.S.A.P. The Awit Awards are music awards in the Philippines given annually by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) to recognize the outstanding achievements in the music industry. The word "Awit" means "song" literally in Filipino. The first awards were given in 1969 at a ceremony in Makati. After three awards ceremonies were held, the Awit Awards were discontinued in 1972. In 1988, PARI brought back the awards and today, the organization still handles these awards.
