Julianna Cannamela
Julianna Marie Cannamela (born June 26, 1997) is an All American collegiate artistic gymnast. She currently represents the LSU Tigers women's gymnastics; competing in the Southeastern Conference. Early life Julianna Marie Cannamela was born on June 26, 1997, in Pineville, North Carolina, to parents, John and Dawn Cannamela. She has three brothers, John Jr., Jacob and Joseph. In the spring of 2015, Cannamela graduated from Parkwood High School. Gymnastics career In 2001, at the age of four, Cannamela enrolled in recreational gymnastics classes at Southeastern Gymnastics in Weddington, North Carolina. Julianna remained at the club for her entire club competitive career. 2011–15: Club competitive career Cannamela moved up to Level 10 for the 2011 season; at the age of thirteen. Pineville (; locally ) is a suburban town in the southernmost portion of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, United States, situated in the Waxhaws district between Charlotte and Fort Mill. History Pineville became known as a mule trading center during the time of the Charlotte 'gold rush'. At that time 'Pineville' was called 'Morrow's Turnout'. LSU Tigers Gymnastics
The LSU Tigers women's gymnastics team represents Louisiana State University in NCAA Division I women's gymnastics. The team competes in the Southeastern Conference and is currently coached by Jay Clark, who is coaching in his fifth season. The Pete Maravich Assembly Center serves as the home arena for the team. History The gymnastics program was founded in 1970. In 2008, LSU made their first Super Six appearance. The team also made Super Six appearances in 2009, 2013 and 2014. In both the 2016 and 2017 seasons, the program made the Super Six and finished second at the 2016 and 2017 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships. Also in 2017, LSU won back-to-back SEC Regular Season and SEC Championship Meet championships.
