Julian Podger
Julian Podger (born 1966) is an English tenor who has appeared mostly in concert in historically informed performance. He took part in the 2000 Bach Cantata Pilgrimage. He also sings in vocal ensembles, and directs his own ensemble, Trinity Baroque. Life and career Born in England, Podger grew up in Kassel, Hesse, Germany. His sister, Rachel Podger, is an acclaimed violinist. He studied at Trinity College, Cambridge. He has sung with notable vocal ensembles such as Gothic Voices, a group for medieval music, and The Harp Consort. He founded his own ensemble Trinity Baroque while still studying in Cambridge. On 10 August 1997, he appeared as a soloist at The Proms with the Monteverdi Choir and the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique, conducted by John Eliot Gardiner, performing vocal works by Schubert and Beethoven. William Croft
William Croft (baptised 30 December 1678 – 14 August 1727) was an English composer and organist. Life Croft was born at the Manor House, Nether Ettington, Warwickshire. He was educated at the Chapel Royal under the instruction of John Blow, and remained there until 1698. Two years after this departure, he became organist of St. Anne's Church, Soho and he became an organist and 'Gentleman extraordinary' at the Chapel Royal. Peter Harvey (baritone)
Peter Harvey (born 1958) is an English baritone. Harvey specialises in Baroque music. However, he also sings works by later composers, including contemporary ones. Harvey was a choral scholar at Magdalen College, Oxford, where he studied languages before switching to music. He then went to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Harvey is known for his performances of Bach. He was a soloist in the Monteverdi Choir's Bach Cantata Pilgrimage in 2000; he completed the bass parts in seventy cantatas in performance and recording. He has since contributed to the Bach cycle being recorded by the J. S. Bach-Stiftung with the conductor Rudolf Lutz. The Netherlands Bach Society ( nl, Nederlandse Bachvereniging) is the oldest ensemble for Baroque music in the Netherlands, and possibly in the world. Jos Van Veldhoven
Josephus Maria Martinus van Veldhoven (born 1952 in Den Bosch) is a Dutch choral conductor. He studied musicology at the Rijksuniversiteit of Utrecht, and choral and orchestral conducting at the Royal Conservatory, the Hague. He was artistic director of the Netherlands Bach Society (Nederlandse Bachvereniging) from 1983 to 2018. In this capacity he regularly gave performances at home and abroad of the major works of Johann Sebastian Bach and his predecessors and contemporaries. In addition he has been the director since 1976 of the Utrechts Barok Consort, which he founded. Melinda Paulsen
Melinda Paulsen (born 1964) is an American mezzo-soprano and contralto who has appeared mostly in Germany, with a focus on concert singing. She has been an academic voice teacher at the Musikhochschule Frankfurt. Early life and education Paulsen grew up in Indiana. She studied first at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, then from 1988 in Germany at the Musikhochschule München with Daphne Evangelatos, graduating in 1991. Emma Kirkby
Dame Carolyn Emma Kirkby, (; born 26 February 1949) is an English soprano and early music specialist. She has sung on over 100 recordings. Education and early career Kirkby was educated at Hanford School, Sherborne School for Girls in Dorset, and Somerville College, Oxford University. Her father was Geoffrey John Kirkby, a Royal Navy Officer. Kirkby did not originally intend to become a professional singer. In the late 1960s, while she was studying classics at Oxford, she joined the Schola Cantorum of Oxford, a student choir which, at the time, was being conducted by Andrew Parrott.
