Jukka Mikkola
Jukka Mikkola (3 July 1943 – 23 March 2018) was a Finnish politician from the Social Democratic Party. He was a lawyer and has the title Master of Laws. Although born in Vampula, Mikkola has participated in politics in Turku. He was member of the parliament from 1983 to 1986 and again from 1995 to 2003. Mikkola was elected to the position of the speaker of the parliament for a short term in 1999 after general elections. He continued as the second deputy speaker of the parliament for the remaining term 1999–2003. He continued in municipal politics in Turku after he left the parliament. Mikkola left politics due to health issues in 2016. Speakers are chosen for a year at a time. In addition to their preparing the work in plenary sessions the speakers also play a key role in Parliament's international co-operation, which includes visits by speakers and international delegations as well as participation in numerous interparliamentary organisations. Turku ( ; ; sv, Åbo, ) is a city and former capital on the southwest coast of Finland at the mouth of the Aura River, in the region of Finland Proper (''Varsinais-Suomi'') and the former Turku and Pori Province (''Turun ja Porin lääni''; 1634–1997). Riitta Uosukainen
Riitta Maria Uosukainen (née Vainikka; 18 June 1942, Jääski, Viipuri Province, Finland (now Svetogorsk, Leningrad Oblast, Russia)) is a Finnish politician and former Member of Parliament. She is one of the eight people to gain the highest honorary title, '' Counselor of State'', given by the President. Uosukainen worked as editor of the Kustannus Oy Tammi publishing house 1965–1966, before beginning university studies. She graduated with a Licentiate in Philosophy in 1970.
