Juice (Danish Band)
Juice was a Danish R&B musical group that was established in 1995 and included Anne Rani, Lena Tahara and Maria Hamer (a.k.a. Maria Hamer-Jensen). They were signed to EMI-Medley. Lena Tahara left in 1998 and was replaced by Eve Horne. The group's producers included Carsten Soulshock, Peter Biker and Kenneth Karlin. The group disbanded in August 2000 after two successful albums. The group became very prominent particularly with their debut album ''Something to Feel'' which sold 40,000 copies in 1997. Singles included "Best Days" and "I'll Come Runnin'" which charted on the Danish Singles Chart and also the UK Singles Chart at numbers 28 and 48, respectively. In 1999, the group released their second album ''Can We Get Personal?''. They also took part in the Christmas hit "Let Love Be Love" alongside S.O.A.P., Christina Undhjem and Remee. Contemporary R&B
Contemporary R&B (or simply R&B) is a popular music genre that combines rhythm and blues with elements of pop, soul, funk, hip hop, and electronic music. The genre features a distinctive record production style, drum machine-backed rhythms, pitch corrected vocals, and a smooth, lush style of vocal arrangement. Electronic influences are becoming an increasing trend and the use of hip hop or dance-inspired beats are typical, although the roughness and grit inherent in hip hop may be reduced and smoothed out. Maria (Danish Singer)
Maria Lumiere (born Maria Jensen on 13 May 1978) is a Danish singer and songwriter. Born in Denmark, she grew up living in different parts of Europe. Despite her parents' initial hesitation and the fact that she did not come from a musical family, she decided to pursue a career as a singer. She was eventually discovered and signed by Soulshock, from the writing and production duo Soulshock & Karlin, to Soulpower/ Dreamworks Records. Her first single "I Give, You Take" was released in 2003 and received success on R&B/Top 40 radio. It reache#33 on the BillboardPop 100 chart. Her debut album, ''My Soul'' was released in September 2003. Dreamworks failed to follow up with promotion for a second single, and she was let go when Dreamworks Records was sold, shortly before the label folded. Soulshock
Carsten Schack (born 1968 in Gug, Denmark) and better known by his stage name Soulshock is a Danish record producer and songwriter. Beginnings Carsten Schack was born in the Aalborg suburb of Gug, the son of economics professor Bent Schack and physician assistant Åse Schack. In the early 1990s he dated choreographer Toniah Pedersen for 3 years. Since 1993 he had been living in Los Angeles in the USA with his girlfriend Charmayne Maxwell, former vocalist of American R&B group Brownstone, with whom he has a son, Nicholas. His music career began as a DJ, when in 1989 he came joint third place in the DMC European Mixing Championships. Peter Biker
Peter Biker (born 10 May 1961) is a Danish record producer and songwriter. He is also a musician drummer and keyboard player. He has produced or written for many local Danish and international acts. He was on the judging panels of shows like ''Stjerneskud'' and ''Popstars'' Career In the 1980s, Peter Biker started as a drummer in News, a popular Danish pop group. He started as drummer of the band, and then as keyboard player. He stayed with the band until its break-up in 1994. After that he went solo and released his debut solo album ''Kys dig når du går'' in 1987. Remee Sigvardt Jackman (né Mikkel Johan Imer Sigvardt; born Frederiksberg, 8 November 1974), better known as Remee, is a Danish producer, composer and songwriter. Career Remee has written more than 60 hits and has sold over 25 million records. He has co-written several songs with Thomas Troelsen. Early music career Remee was a rapper in the pop group Sound of Seduction and in Thomas Blachman's jazz and hip-hop project in the early and mid-1990s. In 1998, Remee broke through as a producer/songwriter for the pop duo S.O.A.P, with the debut album ''Not Like Other Girls''.
