Judith Mary Edwards (born 10 April 1955) in Beverley, Western Australia is an Australian politician. She was the ALP member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly from May 1990 to September 2008, representing the electorate of Maylands. Judy Junor (born July 27, 1948) is a Canadian provincial politician. Judy was a New Democratic Party (NDP) member of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan for the constituency of Saskatoon Eastview. Born in North Battleford, she grew up in Saskatoon and received a diploma from St. Paul's School of Nursing in 1969. She worked as a nurse in Saskatoon and served as president of the Saskatchewan Union of Nurses and as vice-president of the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour. She was first elected to the legislature in a 1998 by-election following the resignation of Bob Pringle. She was the first female attorney-general of Tasmania and also served as the Minister for Environment in the Tasmanian Government. She has served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, and as mayor of Lacombe. Provincial political career Gordon ran for a seat in the Alberta Legislature after serving as mayor of Lacombe from 1989 to 1993. Judy Fryd (31 October 1909 – October 2000) was a British campaigner for mentally disabled children and the founder of The National Association of Parents of Backward Children, now Mencap. Throughout her life, she increased awareness around learning disabilities and encouraged for more action to be taken in order to give greater consideration to these individuals. Through the founding of her charity, she cemented this ethos, with the movement for greater aid to be given to those with learning disabilities continuing through the work of Mencap.
