Juan Pablo Vargas
Juan Pablo Vargas Campos (born 6 June 1995) is a Costa Rican professional footballer who plays as a defender for Categoría Primera A club Millonarios. Club career Vargas came through the academy at Liga Deportiva Alajuelense and was promoted to the main squad by coach Óscar Ramírez on 30 May 2013, along with the other youth Ronald Matarrita and Steve Garita. Vargas has achieved great form playing for Millonarios and has been called the best defender playing in the Colombian league, with some tongue-in-cheek comparisons with Lionel Messi after an assist in a 4–1 win against Cortuluá. Vargas played as Millionarios reached the final of the Copa Colombia in September 2022. The Copa Colombia ( en, Colombia Cup, link=yes); officially known as Copa BetPlay Dimayor is an annual football tournament in Colombia. It is contested by the 36 professional clubs of DIMAYOR and is the nation's domestic cup competition, equivalent to the FA Cup in England or the Copa del Rey in Spain. The 2022 Copa Colombia, officially the Copa BetPlay Dimayor 2022 for sponsorship reasons, was the 20th edition of the Copa Colombia, the national cup competition for clubs affiliated to División Mayor del Fútbol Profesional Colombiano, DIMAYOR, the governing body of professional club football in Colombia. The tournament, which was contested by 35 teams, began on 9 February 2022 and ended on 2 November 2022. Millonarios F.C., Millonarios won their third title in the competition, after beating Atlético Junior, Junior in the double-legged final by a 2–1 aggregate score. Group E of the 2022 FIFA World Cup took place from 23 November to 1 December 2022. The group consisted of Spain, Costa Rica, Germany, and Japan. Al Khor ( ar, الخور; also spelled ''Al Khawr''), officially Al Khor and Al Thakhira, is a municipality in coastal northeastern Qatar. The United States men's national soccer team (USMNT) represents the United States in men's international soccer competitions.
