Juan Ignacio Gilardi
Juan Ignacio Gilardi (born 14 November 1981) is an Argentine retired field hockey player who played as a defender for the Argentine national team. He was part of the Argentine team that won gold in men's field hockey at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Although Gilardi would have liked to have continued playing for the national team in 2019, the head coach Germán Orozco, told him he would not be selected for the national team anymore. The Hockey Champions Trophy (HCT) was an international field hockey tournament held by the International Hockey Federation (FIH). History Founded in 1978 by Pakistan's Air Marshal Nur Khan and the Pakistan Hockey Federation, it featured the world's top-ranked field hockey teams competing in a round robin format. A biennial women's tournament was added in 1987. The Champions Trophy was changed from an annual to a biennial event from 2014 onwards, due to the introduction of the Hockey World League (HWL). The 2018 edition was the last edition of the Champions Trophy and the tournament was replaced by the Men's FIH Pro League and the Women's FIH Pro League in 2019. Germán Orozco
Germán Mariano Orozco (born 16 January 1976) is an Argentine field hockey defender, who made his debut for the Argentina men's national field hockey team in 1994. He competed for his native country in the 2000 Summer Olympics and the 2004 Summer Olympics. He studied kinesiology at the University of Salvador in Buenos Aires. Aged six, he started to play hockey at the Banco Nacional de Desarrollo Club. Orozco played club hockey, as of 2005, in Germany, at a club in Hamburg, named UHC Hamburg. In January 2006 he moved to Dutch champions Oranje Zwart from Eindhoven. The Men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup, formerly known as the Hockey Junior World Cup, is an international field hockey competition organized by the International Hockey Federation (FIH). The tournament was started in 1979. Since 1985 it has been held every four years.With the exception of the 2021 tournament,competitors must be under the age of 21 as of December 31 in the year before the tournament is held. There is also a corresponding event for the women's junior teams. This competition started in 1989 and uses the same format as the men's event. Five countries have dominated the event's history. The men's and women's field hockey competitions at the 2014 South American Games were the second inclusion of hockey at the South American Games. Both tournaments were held in conjunction with one another between 8 and 16 March 2014 at Club Deportivo Manquehue in Santiago, Chile. In the men's tournament, Argentina won the gold medal for the second time by defeating Chile 8–1 in the final. Venezuela won the bronze medal by defeating Brazil 3–2 in the bronze-medal match.
