Juaben is a small town in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipal District, a district in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.Ejisu-Juaben Municipal District History Not only had all the royals of Dwabeng been of the clan, but the king of Dwabeng is also the Oyokohene or the family head of all Oyoko clan members of the Akan. Koforidua
Koforidua, also popularly known as K-dua or Kofcity, is a city and the capital of Eastern Region in southern Ghana. Koforidua was founded in 1875 by migrants from Ashanti. Juaben Secondary School
Juaben Senior High School, also known as Juaben SHS, formerly Juaben Secondary School, is a co-educational senior high school in Juaben, a town in the Ejisu-Juaben District of the Ashanti Region in Ghana. History The school opened with the name Juaben Secondary School in November 1972, starting with 87 students. It had originally been opened in 1950 as a model Girl's Basic School, and was converted to a Women's Training College in October, 1962. In 2020, the school won a computing competition for senior high schools in the Ashanti Region called ''Code Afrique'', which had been organised by Cornell University and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Operations The school is under the Ghana Education Service of the government of Ghana. Nana Kwaku Boateng
Nana Kwaku Boateng I was a former Omanhene of New Juaben. He led the revolt against the Golden Stool of Ashanti during the reign of Nana Dokua. He ruled the New Juabens (sometimes called Dwaben) from 1913 to 1930. Nana Kwaku had a son called Asafo Adjei who married the Queen of Juaben called Sapoma. He usurped the stool of Juaben after her death which contradicts the traditional usage of the matrilineal system of succession. History of New Juaben New Juaben was established by Asante refugees. The Districts of Ghana are second-level administrative subdivisions of Ghana, below the level of region. There are 261 local metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies (or MMDA's). History The districts of Ghana were re-organized in 1988/1989 in an attempt to decentralize the government and to assist in development. The Ashanti Region is located in southern part of Ghana and it is the third largest of 16 administrative regions, occupying a total land surface of or 10.2 percent of the total land area of Ghana. Ejisu-Juaben Municipal District
Ejisu-Juaben Municipal District is a former district that was located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly on 10 March 1989 when it was known as Ejisu-Juaben District which was created from the former Ejisu-Juaben-Bosomtwe District Council. It was later elevated to municipal district assembly status in 2007 (effectively 29 February 2008) to become Ejisu-Juaben Municipal District. However on 15 March 2018, it was split off into two new municipal districts: Ejisu Municipal District (capital: Ejisu) and Juaben Municipal District (capital: Juaben).
