João Ribeiro De Barros
João Ribeiro de Barros (4 April 1900 – 20 July 1947) was the first aviator of the three Americas to make an air crossing from Europe to America, on April 28, 1927, crossing the Atlantic Ocean with the Savoia-Marchetti S.55 hydroplane ''Jahú''. On his flight, he had the company of three others: João Negrão (co-pilot), Newton Braga (navigator) and Vasco Cinquini (mechanic). The four aviators departed from Genoa, in Italy, to Santo Amaro (São Paulo), with stopovers in Spain, Gibraltar, Cabo Verde and Fernando de Noronha, in the Brazilian territory. João Ubaldo Ribeiro
João Ubaldo Ribeiro (January 23, 1941 – July 18, 2014) was a Brazilian writer, journalist, screenwriter and professor. Several of his books and short stories have been turned into movies and TV series in Brazil. Ribeiro was a member of the Brazilian Academy of Letters, being elected in 1994. At the time of his death many considered him to be Brazil's greatest contemporary novelist. Biography Ribeiro was the first of three children of Manoel Ribeiro and Maria Felipa Osório Pimental. When Ribeiro was two months old, the family moved to Aracaju, in the northeastern state of Sergipe. Early on, he showed an interest in literature. In 1955, he began attending the Colégio da Bahia, along with Glauber Rocha, with whom he became friends in 1956. In 1957, Ribeiro began working for local newspapers as a journalist. João da Rocha Ribeiro (born 13 August 1987) is a Portuguese footballer who plays as a left winger. Club career Born in Porto, Ribeiro was brought up in FC Porto's youth system. Still a junior he made his senior debuts, playing only six times in two seasons combined with the reserves in the third division. Released by Porto, Ribeiro signed a four-year contract with Associação Naval 1º de Maio in the 2006 summer. He made his Primeira Liga debut on 3 December in a 0–2 away loss against C.D. Aves (25 minutes played), and appeared in a further 11 games as the Figueira da Foz club retained its division status. In the following campaign, Ribeiro became first-choice at Naval, featuring in 27 matches and scoring once as his team finished in 11th position. He missed the vast majority of 2008–09, due to injury.
