Joaçaba
Joaçaba is a city situated in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil, with approximately 30,404 inhabitants. Located in 27º10'22" S and 51º30'03" W and 516.74 m above sea level, the city was colonized in the early 20th century by German and Italian immigrants. Its industry is based on agriculture and agricultural products such as chicken and pork. History This territory was considered Spanish territory as part of the Treaty of Tordesillas (1494). However, the Portuguese occupied this territory from early on. Carlos Reichenbach
Carlos Oscar Reichenbach Filho (14 June 1945 – 14 June 2012) was a Brazilian filmmaker. Early life and career Reichenbach was born in Porto Alegre to Luise Reichenbach (née Tinger) and Carlos Reichenbach. Reichenbach was one year of age when he came to live in São Paulo. He studied in the School of Cinema São Luiz, where he was a student of Luis Sérgio Person. With João Callegaro and Antonio Lima he made his first feature-length films – the film episodes of ''As Libertinas'' (1968) and ''Audácia, a fúria dos desejos'' (1969). Rogério Sganzerla
Rogério Sganzerla (4 May 1946 — 9 January 2004) was a Brazilian filmmaker. One of the main names of the '' cinema marginal'' underground movement, his most known work is ''The Red Light Bandit'' (1968). Sganzerla was influenced by Orson Welles, Jean-Luc Godard, and José Mojica Marins, and often used clichés from film noir and pornochanchadas. Irony, narrative subversion and collage were trademarks of his film aesthetics. Biography Sganzerla was born in Joaçaba, in the state of Santa Catarina. During the 1960 decade he wrote for the newspaper ''O Estado de S. Paulo'' as film reporter. In 1967 Sganzerla directed his first short film, ''Documentário''. Glauber de Andrade Rocha (; 14 March 1939 – 22 August 1981) was a Brazilian film director, actor and screenwriter. He was one of the most influential moviemakers of Brazilian cinema and a key figure of Cinema Novo. Neville Duarte de Almeida (born 1941), known as Neville d'Almeida, is a Brazilian filmmaker, screenwriter, actor, photographer and multimedia artist, involved with contemporary art, installations, objects of art and performance.
