José Luis Mendilibar
José Luis Mendilibar Etxebarria (born 14 March 1961) is a Spanish former Association football, footballer who played as a midfielder, currently Manager (association football), manager of Sevilla FC. He played no higher than Segunda División, where he made 290 appearances and scored 34 goals mainly for Sestao Sport Club, Sestao and also for CD Logroñés, Logroñés. He managed for over 15 years in La Liga for Athletic Bilbao, Real Valladolid, Valladolid, CA Osasuna, Osasuna, Levante UD, Levante, SD Eibar, Eibar, Deportivo Alavés, Alavés and Sevilla FC, Sevilla, winning the second division with the second of those teams in 2006–07 Segunda División, 2006–07. Javier Irureta
Javier Iruretagoyena Amiano (born 1 April 1948), Irureta for short, is a Spanish retired football attacking midfielder and manager. He had a distinguished playing career with Atlético Madrid and Athletic Bilbao, playing in 344 La Liga games for both teams combined and scoring 70 goals. Irureta managed several Spanish top flight clubs, most notably Deportivo. He was the only person to have coached both the two major Galician (Deportivo and Celta) and Basque (Athletic and Real Sociedad) sides. 1986–87 Segunda División
The 1986–87 Segunda División season saw 18 teams participate in the second flight Spanish league. It was the longest season ever in Spanish football. The league was reduced to 18 teams and had two phases. In the first one all 18 teams played each other twice (home and away). At the end of the first phase, the first twelve teams qualified for promotion groups (Group A1 for teams that finished in an odd position and Group A2 for teams that finished in an even position) and last six qualified for relegation group (Group B). In the second phase, teams played only against teams of the same group twice (home and away) and carried their first phase record.
