José Francisco Peña Gómez
José Francisco Peña Gómez (6 March 1937 – 10 May 1998) was a politician from the Dominican Republic. He was the leader of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), a three-time candidate for president of the Dominican Republic and former Mayor of Santo Domingo. He is considered, along with Joaquín Balaguer and Juan Bosch, as one of the most prominent Dominican political figures of the 20th century. Early life Born to María Marcelin, a Haitian woman, and Oguís Vincent, a Haitian immigrant, on March 6, 1937 in Mao, Dominican Republic, Peña Gómez was adopted as an infant by Simón Pichardo and Andrea Rodríguez de Pichardo, a Dominican family, when his parents had to flee to Haiti (where they died) in order to save their lives as the Dominican dictator Rafael Trujillo enacted the Parsley Massacre against Haitians that same year. Pedro Franco Badía (Noná, San Francisco de Macorís, 25 May 1935 – Santo Domingo, 4 December 2016) was a Dominican politician who served as Mayor of Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional (1978–1982), Secretary of Labor (1982–1986), Deputy to the Congress (1990–1994, 1998–2002), Administrative Secretary of the Presidency (2002–2003) and Secretary of Interior and Police of the Dominican Republic (2003–2004). San Cristóbal () is a province in the southern region of Dominican Republic, located west of the capital Santo Domingo. Manuel del Cabral (7 March 1907, in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic – 14 May 1999, in Santo Domingo) was a Dominican poet, writer, and diplomat. The Social Christian Reformist Party ( es, Partido Reformista Social Cristiano, PRSC) is a Christian democratic right-wing political party in the Dominican Republic. It was established on July 24, 1984, by the union of Joaquín Balaguer's ''Partido Reformista'' and the ''Partido Revolucionario Social Cristiano''.
