Jostein Gulbrandsen
Jostein Gulbrandsen (born 19 October 1976 in Namsos, Norway) is a New York based Norwegian guitarist and composer. Biography Gulbrandsen was attracted to music from an early age, and he picked up the guitar at 9. After enrolling in the performing arts program at Nauma Highschool, he started studying jazz and classical guitar. In 1997 he moved to Kristiansand to attend Agder College of Music. After two years he decided to move to the US to continue his studies at University of North Texas, under the guidance of Fred Hamilton and Lynn Seaton. In 2001 he moved to New York City to attend Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Chris Rosenberg, Dave Liebman, Garry Dial and Phil Markowtiz. He finished his Master’s Degree in 2003 and has since the lived in New York, working as a professional musician, covering many styles of music. ( sma, Nåavmesjenjaelmie) is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is part of the Namdalen region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Namsos. Some of the villages in the municipality include Bangsund, Klinga, Ramsvika, Skomsvoll, Spillum, Sævik, Dun, Salsnes, Nufsfjord, Lund, Namdalseid, Sjøåsen, Statland, Tøttdalen, and Sverkmoen. Ike Sturm (born 29 June 1978 in Wisconsin) is a bassist, composer, and bandleader in New York. He serves as Music Director for the Jazz Ministry at Saint Peter's Church in Manhattan. Biography Raised in a musical home in Wisconsin, Sturm learned from his father, composer and arranger Fred Sturm. He received degrees from the Eastman School of Music and has performed with Gene Bertoncini, Donny McCaslin, Bobby McFerrin, Ben Monder, Ingrid Jensen, Steve Lehman (composer), Steve Lehman, Maria Schneider (musician), Maria Schneider, Kenny Wheeler and many others.
