Josif Marinković
Josif Marinković ( Serbian Cyrillic: Јосиф Маринковић; Vranjevo, near Novi Bečej, 15 September 1851 – Belgrade, 13 May 1931) was a Serbian composer and choral director. Like his younger contemporary Stevan St. Mokranjac, he was devoted to mainly vocal genres—lied and choral. Marinković was a romanticist with a pronounced affinity for melodic expression. He invested exceptional attention to the text declamation, which represented a rather novel quality in Serbian music at the time. Biography Marinković graduated at the Prague Organ School (1873–81) and attended specialized studies in Vienna (1886–87). He acted as choral director of the Belgrade Singing Society (1881–87), Academic Singing Society Obilić (1889–1900), as well as other choral ensembles (The Laborers’ Singing Society and Serbian-Jewish Singing Society, among others). Novi Bečej (, hu, Törökbecse) is a town and municipality located in the Central Banat District of the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. The town has a population of 13,133, while Novi Bečej municipality has 23,925 inhabitants. Name Novi Bečej means "New Bečej". Music of Serbia represents the musical heritage of Serbia, both historical and modern. Isidor Bajić
Isidor Bajic ( sr-cyr, Исидор Бајић) (16 August 1878 – 15 September 1915) was a Serbian composer, teacher, and publisher. Biography He was born in Kula, Austro-Hungarian Empire. A pupil of Hans von Koessler in Budapest, he taught at the Novi Sad High School, where he founded a music school and initiated the publication of the ''Serbian Music Magazine'' and the ''Serbian Music Library'' (an occasional edition of Serbian compositions). He was also interested in the melograph. He died in Novi Sad. His most important work is a romantic national opera '' Knez Ivo od Semberije'' (''Prince Ivo of Semberia''), based on folklore, the subject matter being from the First Serbian Uprising against the Turks at the beginning of the 19th century, in 1804. Stevan Hristić ( sr-cyr, Стеван Христић; 19 June 1885 – 21 August 1958) was Serbian composer, conductor, pedagogue, and music writer. A prominent representative of the late romanticist style in Serbian music of the first half of the 20th century. Miloje Milojević (Serbian Cyrillic: Милоје Милојевић; 27 October 1884, Belgrade – 16 June 1946, Belgrade) was a Serbian composer, musicologist, music critic, folklorist, music pedagogue, and music promoter. Petar Krstić
Petar Krstić (February 18, 1877 – January 21, 1957) was a Serbian composer and conductor known throughout Yugoslavia. Born in Belgrade, Krstić studied under the Austrian composer Robert Fuchs and the Bohemian-Austrian musicologist Guido Adler in Vienna. Kosta Manojlović
Konstantin "Kosta" P. Manojlović ( sr, Коста Манојловић; December 4, 1890 – November 2, 1949) was a Serbian composer, ethnomusicologist, educator and choral conductor. Early years Konstantin Manojlović was born in Krnjevo near the town of Velika Plana on December 4, 1890. After completing elementary school, he continued his education at "Saint Sava" seminary where he graduated in 1910. He then attended the Serbian Music School (now known as the Music School Kosta Manojlović) where he was a student of Stevan Stojanović Mokranjac.
