Josiah Heyman
Josiah McConnell Heyman (born 1958) is an American anthropologist and professor of anthropology at the University of Texas at El Paso, where he is also an Endowed Professor of Border Trade Issues and the director of the Center for Interamerican and Border Studies. He is known for his studies of the United States-Mexico border, which he has been studying for over 30 years. Anthropology
Anthropology is the scientific study of humanity, concerned with human behavior, human biology, cultures, societies, and linguistics, in both the present and past, including past human species. Social anthropology studies patterns of behavior, while cultural anthropology studies cultural meaning, including norms and values. A portmanteau term sociocultural anthropology is commonly used today. Linguistic anthropology studies how language influences social life. Biological or physical anthropology studies the biological development of humans. Archaeological anthropology, often termed as 'anthropology of the past', studies human activity through investigation of physical evidence. The United States Border Patrol (USBP) is a Federal law enforcement in the United States, federal law enforcement agency under the United States' U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Customs and Border Protection and is responsible for securing the borders of the United States.
