Josh Clayton
Josh Clayton (born 17 January 1996) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is the son of former player and list manager, Scott Clayton, and was drafted under the father-son rule. Clayton showed promise as a versatile player from a young age and played with the Sandringham Dragons in the TAC Cup and for Vic Metro in the 2014 AFL Under 18 Championships. After he was drafted, he played various roles in Brisbane's reserves team in the North East Australian Football League, but his inconsistency meant that he was only able to play in two AFL matches before he was delisted at the end of the 2017 season. Sandringham Dragons
The Sandringham Dragons are an Australian rules football club playing in the NAB League, the top statewide under-18 competition in Victoria, Australia. They are based at the Trevor Barker Oval in Sandringham, Victoria, representing the southern suburban area of Melbourne. The Dragons were one of the founding metropolitan clubs of the competition in 1992 as part of a plan by the Victorian State Football League to replace the traditional club zones with independent junior clubs. This was to help aid in player development and the process of the AFL draft. The club was originally named the ''Central Dragons'' and played out of Toorak Oval in Prahran, Victoria. In 1995 the name of the club was changed to ''Prahran Dragons'' as part of the agreement which saw the Prahran Two Blues exit the senior Victorian Football League. Father–son Rule
The father–son rule is a rule that allows clubs preferential recruiting access to the sons of players who have made a major past contribution to the club in Australian rules football, most notably in the Australian Football League. The rule was first established in 1949, and there have been more than ten amendments, most recently the refining of the draft bidding process in 2015. The North East Australian Football League (NEAFL) was an Australian rules football league in New South Wales, Queensland, the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory.
