Josey Wales (singer)
Josey Wales (born Joseph Winston Sterling, October 9, 1956, in St. Mary, Jamaica) is a Jamaican dancehall deejay. He has been called, along with Brigadier Jerry, Yellowman and sound system partner Charlie Chaplin, one of the best Jamaican dancehall deejays of the 1980s. Wales is named after the 1976 Western movie character from ''The Outlaw Josey Wales'', played by Clint Eastwood, and subsequently nicknamed "The Outlaw". His career began in the late 1970s, first starting as a deejay on the ''Roots Unlimited'' sound-system where he often sparred with Burro Banton, and later performing over U-Roy-owned King Sturgav sound system. Order Of Distinction
The Order of Distinction is a national order in the Jamaican honours system. It is the sixth in order of precedence of the Orders of Societies of Honour, which were instituted by an Act of Parliament (''The National Honours and Awards Act'') in 1968. The motto of the Order is "Distinction Through Service". George Phang
George Phang (born 29 March 1956 in Saint Andrew, Kingston) is a Jamaican reggae record producer, famously known for owning the ''Powerhouse'' label. Phang started his reggae label Powerhouse in the early 1980s. His first hits were Little John's "True Confessions" and "Roots Girl", both released in 1983. He followed suit with Sugar Minott's "Buy off the Bar" and Barrington Levy's "Money Move" which were both major hits that year. In the summer of 1984 he released Michael Palmer's "Lick Shot" which became one of the biggest tunes that summer. Many of the most successful dancehall stars of the 1980s recorded for Phang. Half Pint's all-time greatest hit "Greetings" was released on Powerhouse in 1986. Conroy Smith's first song "Indian Lady" was also released on Phang's label. Sir Florizel Augustus Glasspole (25 September 1909 – 25 November 2000), was the third and longest-serving governor-general of Jamaica, in office from 1973 to 1991. Early life and education Florizel Glasspole was born in Kingston, Jamaica on 25 September 1909. His parents were the Rev. Theophilus A. Glasspole, a Methodist minister, and Florence (''née'' Baxter). Glasspole received his early education at Buff Bay Elementary School in Portland between 1914 and 1918. He then attended Central branch Elementary School and Wolmer's Boys School (1922-1926). Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) is a public general hospital in Kingston, Jamaica. It is the oldest public hospital in Jamaica and is the main hospital in south eastern Jamaica.
