Joseph Booth (rugby Player)
Joseph Booth (1873 – 28 April 1958) Scrum.com was a Wales, Welsh-born rugby union forward who originally played club rugby for Risca RFC, Pontymister and international rugby for Wales national rugby union team, Wales. Booth later joined West Hartlepool R.F.C. and represented Durham at county level.Jenkins (1991), pg 24. Rugby career Booth was the first player to be capped for Pontymister while representing the club, when he was chosen to play for Wales in the country's first match of the 1898 Home Nations Championship. Abergavenny
Abergavenny (; cy, Y Fenni , archaically ''Abergafenni'' meaning "mouth of the River Gavenny") is a market town and community in Monmouthshire, Wales. Abergavenny is promoted as a ''Gateway to Wales''; it is approximately from the border with England and is located where the A40 trunk road and the A465 Heads of the Valleys road meet. Originally the site of a Roman fort, Gobannium, it became a medieval walled town within the Welsh Marches. Billy Bancroft
William James Bancroft (2 March 1871 – 3 March 1959) was a Welsh international fullback, who played club rugby for Swansea, and a county cricketer for Glamorgan, for whom he was the first professional player in 1895. Bancroft was seen as one of the first true stars of Welsh rugby and played rugby with extreme self-confidence.Thomas (1979), p. 15. He possessed great speed and was an excellent kicker of the ball,Smith (1980), p. 82. though some critics felt his defensive play was weak. His brother Jack also played rugby for Wales. Risca ( cy, Rhisga) is a town in the Caerphilly County Borough and the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire in south-east Wales. David "Dai" Evans (1872 – 29 January 1912) was a Welsh international rugby union forward who played club rugby for Penygraig and international rugby for Wales. Rhondda
Rhondda , or the Rhondda Valley ( cy, Cwm Rhondda ), is a former coalmining area in South Wales, historically in the county of Glamorgan. It takes its name from the River Rhondda, and embraces two valleys – the larger Rhondda Fawr valley (''mawr'' large) and the smaller Rhondda Fach valley (''bach'' small) – so that the singular "Rhondda Valley" and the plural are both commonly used.
