Joris Luyendijk (; born 30 December 1971) is a Dutch non-fiction author, anthropologist, news correspondent, and TV interviewer. Biography Joris Luyendijk was born on 30 December 1971 in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. He lived in Hilversum from the age of five. Luyendijk studied in Kansas, Amsterdam, and Cairo. He earned his Master's degree equivalent "doctoraal" degree in Cairo. Joris Vanvinckenroye (born 1977), also known by his solo moniker BASta!, is a Flemish avant-rock and experimental double bass musician and composer. He is best known for Aranis, a neo-classical chamber rock group he founded and leads, and for his double bass solo project, BASta!. Vanvinckenroye has performed in Europe and the United States, and recorded seven albums with Aranis.
