Jorge De Brito
Jorge Artur Rego de Brito ComIH ComM (7 November 1927 – 2 August 2006) was a Portuguese businessman, founder of Banco Intercontinental Português (BIP) and Brisa, who served as the 29th president of sports club S.L. Benfica, succeeding João Santos. During Brito's term at Benfica, from 24 April 1992 to 7 January 1994, its football team won the Taça de Portugal in 1993. At the end of that year, during the following season, he resigned due to financial difficulties dating back to "Verão Quente" (Hot Summer), when Benfica did not sign new players and lost two players to Lisbon rivals Sporting, thus not completing his triennal term. He was succeeded by Manuel Damásio. Associate number 88, Brito was awarded with the Águia de Ouro (Golden Eagle) by Benfica on 14 December 1973, during the presidency of Duarte Borges Coutinho. Order Of Prince Henry
The Order of Prince Henry ( pt, Ordem do Infante Dom Henrique) is a Portuguese order of knighthood created on 2 June 1960, to commemorate the quincentenary of the death of the Portuguese prince Henry the Navigator, one of the main initiators of the Age of Discovery. Minor reforms of the constitution of the Order occurred in 1962 and 1980. It is a five-tier order, whose titles are awarded for relevant services to Portugal and for services in the expansion of the Portuguese culture, its history and its values (with a particular focus on its maritime history). Manuel Damásio
Manuel Damásio Soares Garcia (born 9 July 1940), known as Manuel Damásio, is a Portuguese businessman who served as the 30th president of sports club S.L. Benfica. Born in Lisbon, Damásio was elected president of Benfica on 7 January 1994 with 87% of the votes, defeating candidate and friend José Capristano. Shortly after succeeding Jorge de Brito, Benfica won the Portuguese league title in football. Damásio then started a campaign to attract new members to the club to overcome financial difficulties, raising the number of associates from 83,000 to 150,000. He also tried to lower the club's debt with Parmalat as a sponsor; however, it did not help much. Along with the help of Abílio Rodrigues and Gaspar Ramos, Damásio transformed Benfica's football department. His choice of football coaches was not fortunate: he signed Artur Jorge, Paulo Autuori, and Manuel José, with Mário Wilson serving as interim coach, thrice. Prazeres Cemetery ( pt, Cemitério dos Prazeres) is one of the largest cemeteries in Lisbon, Portugal; it is located in the ''freguesia'' (civil parish) of Estrela, in western Lisbon (formerly, within the parish of Prazeres). Duarte António Borges Coutinho, 4th Marquess of Praia e Monforte (18 November 1921 – 19 May 1981), commonly known simply as Borges Coutinho, was the 26th president of Portuguese sports club S.L. Benfica. Born in Lisbon and educated both in England and Portugal, Borges Coutinho became a member of Benfica in 1959, aged 37. Ten years later, he became president of the club after defeating candidates Fernando Martins and Romão Martins in the elections on 12 April 1969, with 58 percent of the votes. During his eight-year presidency (four consecutive biennal terms), the football team won seven Primeira Liga titles (personal record) – one of them without defeat, in the 1972–73 campaign – and three Taça de Portugal trophies.
