Jorge Fons
Jorge Fons Pérez (23 April 1939 – 22 September 2022) was a Mexican film director. He belonged to the first generation of film directors of the UNAM. His short film, ''Caridad'' (1973), is still considered one of the best films in Mexican cinema. Two of the most important films of his filmography are ''Rojo amanecer'' (1989) and ''El callejón de los milagros'' (1995) based on the homonymous book by Naguib Mahfouz, '' Midaq Alley'' of 1947 (زقاق المدق), which breaks the classic lineal plots in films. His 1976 film, ''Los albañiles'', won the Silver Bear at the 27th Berlin International Film Festival. In 1995, his film ''El callejón de los milagros'' won a Special Mention at the 45th Berlin International Film Festival. Fons died in Mexico City on 22 September 2022, at the age of 83. Tuxpam De Rodríguez Cano
Tuxpan (or Túxpam, fully Túxpam de Rodríguez Cano) is both a municipalities of Mexico, municipality and city located in the Mexican state of Veracruz. The population of the city was 78,523 and of the municipality was 134,394 inhabitants, according to the National Institute of Statistics, Geography, and Data Processing, INEGI census of 2005, residing in a total area of . ''Los Cachorros'' (''The Cubs'') is a 1973 Mexican film drama directed by Jorge Fons and written by Fons, Eduardo Lujan, José Emilio Pacheco based upon the novel ''The Cubs and Other Stories'' by Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa. Plot It tells the story of a group of friends that stand by each other well into adulthood. The film starts innocently enough when young Cuellar (12-years-old) enters a new school. He immediately makes friends with 4-other youngsters. One day after soccer practice while taking a shower, a vicious dog is let loose and it severely mauls him devouring his genitals. He is as a result maimed for life and this novel uses his development into adolescence and later into adulthood to explore the problems he faces. Fé, Esperanza Y Caridad
''Fe, Esperanza y Caridad'' (English: Faith, Hope and Charity) is a Mexican film comprising three short stories. It was made in 1974. Synopsis The film compiles three stories, each named for part of the main title. The first, "Fe" (Faith), is the story of a woman who travels to a distant town seeking a miracle to save her husband from disease. On the journey she is raped by fellow pilgrims; returning home she finds that the miracle has taken place and her husband is well. She vows to make the pilgrimage again the next year. The second story, "Esperanza" (Hope), concerns a man who, hoping to help his mother, consents to be nailed to a cross as part of a "JesusChrist" freak show.
