Jordan Women's National Football Team
The Jordan women's national football team ( ar, منتخب الأردن لكرة القدم للسيدات) is the official women's national football team of the country of Jordan. The team was established in , and is controlled by the Jordan Football Association (JFA), the governing body for football in Jordan. Whilst the team has yet to qualify for the FIFA Women's World Cup, they took part in the AFC Women's Asian Cup in 2014 and 2018, failing to qualify past the group stage on both occasions. Jordan are regulars at the WAFF Women's Championship, and have won a record five titles. History The team was founded in and in spite of not having many players to choose from won the West Asia Women's Championship in their inaugural appearance. The Jordan Football Association ( ar, الاتحاد الأردني لكرة القدم) is the governing body for association football, football in Jordan. The JFA was awarded best association of the AFC in 2013. History Tournaments Jordan is known to be the Dark Horse of Asian Football, They were one play-off away from reaching the 2014 FIFA World Cup, they lost to Uruguay in a two-legged play-off. The most recent tournament they played was the 2019 AFC Asian Cup where they lost to Vietnam on Penalties in the Round of 16. The farthest Jordan got in the AFC Asian Cup was in 2004 and 2011, reaching the quarter-finals both times as they were paired with Asian Powerhouses such as Japan & South Korea, however, as an underdog they exceeded expectations and made it past the group stages. 2022 WAFF Women's Championship
The 2022 West Asian Football Federation Women's Championship, or simply 2022 WAFF Women's Championship, was the 7th edition of the WAFF Women's Championship, the international women's football championship of Western Asia organised by the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF). It was held in Amman, Jordan from 29 August to 4 September 2022. Hosts Jordan won their fifth title – and third in a row – after finishing top of their group with three wins in three games. Lebanon finished second, winning two, while Syria and Palestine finished third and fourth respectively, with one draw and two defeats each.
