Jordan Raney
Jordan Raney (born June 2, 1996) is an American water polo player who is a member of the United States women's national water polo team. She was part of the gold medal-winning American team at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest. College career Raney played water polo at Stanford University where she helped lead the Cardinal to NCAA Championships in 2015 and 2017. In 2018 Raney was 1st Team All-American and 1st Team All-MPSF. International career Raney made her Senior National Team debut in 2017, winning the FINA World League Super Final. A standout defender, she made her professional debut competing for NC Vouliagmeni in Greece alongside Team USA teammates Ashleigh Johnson and Stephania Haralabidis. She currently plays for Greek powerhouse Olympiacos Piraeus, with whom she won the 2021–22 LEN Euro League. FINA Water Polo World League
The FINA Water Polo World League was an international water polo league organized by FINA, which plays annually, typically from winter through to June. League play featured continental tournaments for men and women, from which the top teams emerged to play in the championship tournament (the "Super Final") where the league champion team is crowned. Men's league play began in 2002, to capitalize on increased worldwide popularity of water polo created by the 2000 Olympic Games, especially in Europe, North America and Australia. The women’s league was added in 2004, based on growing interest in women's play. Stephania Haralabidis ( gr, Στεφανία Χαραλαμπίδη; born May 19, 1995) was born in Athens, Greece. Haralabidis is an American water polo player who played at USC and currently playing for Ethnikos and the U.S. national team. Haralabidis also has two sisters, her twin Ioanna and older sister Anastaia. Ioanna was also on the USC women's water polo team. Ashleigh Elizabeth Johnson (born September 12, 1994) is an American water polo player considered by many to be the best goalkeeper in the world. She was part of the American team that won the gold medal at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships. In 2016, she became the first African-American woman to make the US Olympic team in water polo. 2023 FINA Women's Water Polo World Cup
The 2023 FINA Women's Water Polo World Cup was the 18th edition of the tournament. It ran from 11 April to 25 June 2023. The Super final took place between 23 and 25 June 2023 in Long Beach, United States. From this year on, the tournament was replacing the FINA Water Polo World League. The United States won their fourth straight and fifth overall title after defeating the Netherlands in the final. Format There were two divisions. In Division 1, the top eight teams from the World Championships played. They played a round-robin in April, at pre-selected venues. 2020 FINA Women's Water Polo World League
The 2020 FINA Women's Water Polo World League was the 17th edition of the annual women's international water polo tournament. It was played between October 2019 and June 2021 and opened to all women's water polo national teams. After participating in a preliminary round, eight teams qualified to play in a final tournament, called the Super Final, originally from 9–14 June 2020. The tournament was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In August 2020, it was announced that it would be played in from January to June 2021.
