Career Publishing Jonathan Coleman worked as a book editor with Knopf and Simon & Schuster. In 1980, in a piece about publishing, he was profiled in ''Time'' magazine as one of the best editors in the field. Producer In 1981, Coleman was a producer and correspondent with CBS News. Jonathan Coleman (politician)
Jonathan David Coleman (born 23 September 1966) is a retired New Zealand politician and medical practitioner, who most recently served as Minister of Health and for Sport and Recreation under the Fifth National Government. Coleman also served as Minister of Defence and Immigration within the first two terms of that government, and represented the parliamentary constituency Northcote for the National Party from 2005 to 2018. Coleman trained in medicine at the University of Auckland before acquiring an MBA from the London Business School in the United Kingdom. In the 2005 election, Coleman stood as the National Party's candidate for the Northcote seat, defeating Ann Hartley of the Labour Party in what was the only Labour seat to flip to National in the entire election. He came a cabinet minister upon John Key leading the party to victory in 2008. Jonathan Coleman is the Erasmus Smith's Professor of Natural and Experimental Philosophy in the School of Physics and a Principal Investigator in CRANN at Trinity College Dublin. Coleman's research focuses on solution-processing of nanomaterials and their use in applications. He is most well-known for the development of liquid phase exfoliation, a widely used method for preparing two-dimensional nanosheets. Early life and education Coleman attended the King's Hospital School, before studying for a BA in Experimental Physics in Trinity College Dublin. He graduated with First Class Honours and a gold medal in 1995. He completed a Doctor of Philosophy, PhD in Physics in TCD in 1999 under Prof Werner Blau.
