Jonathan O'Dougherty
Jonathon O'Dougherty (born 22 February 1978), is a Welsh ice dancer who competed for Britain with his wife, Pamela O'Connor. Personal life O'Dougherty was born in Wrexham, Wales on 22 February 1978. He graduated from South Nottingham College in 2004 with a degree in Sports Science. He now studies at San Jose State University. He has one brother, who also skated competitively. O'Connor and O'Dougherty moved to California in 2004, then moved to Minnesota in 2007, where they married. They moved back to California in 2009, where they coached at Sharks Ice in San Jose, California. They then moved to Bozeman, MT where O'Dougherty serves as the Skating Director for the Gallatin Ice Foundation. Career O'Dougherty started to skate at age twelve. He was initially a singles skater. Pamela O'Connor (figure Skater)
Pamela "Pam" O'Connor (born 22 March 1980 in Glasgow) is a Scottish former ice dancer who competed internationally representing Great Britain. With her husband Jonathon O'Dougherty, she is the 2003 British national champion. Career O'Connor competed with partner Jonathan O'Dougherty. They competed at one World Championships, finishing 19th in 2002, and twice at the European Championships, finishing 16th in 2003 and 14th in 2005. They won medals at several internationals – Finlandia Trophy, Pavel Roman Memorial, Ondrej Nepela Memorial, and Golden Spin of Zagreb – and one senior national title. Ondrej Nepela Memorial
The Nepela Memorial ( sk, Memoriál Ondreja Nepelu), formerly known as the Ondrej Nepela Trophy in 2013–15 & 2017 and the Ondrej Nepela Memorial, is an annual senior-level international figure skating competition. Named after Figure skating at the 1972 Winter Olympics, 1972 Olympic champion Ondrej Nepela, the competition has been held annually since 1993. It became part of the ISU Challenger Series in the 2014–15 season. The competition is generally held in Slovakia's capital, Bratislava, except 2009 when it was held in Piešťany. The World Figure Skating Championships (''"Worlds"'') is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union. The free dance (FD) is a segment of an ice dance competition, the second contested. It follows the rhythm dance (RD). Skaters perform "a creative dance program blending dance steps and movements expressing the character/rhythm(s) of the dance music chosen by the couple".S&P/ID 2022, p. 143 Its duration is four minutes for senior ice dancers, and 3.5 minutes for juniors. Original Dance
The original dance (OD) was one of the programs performed by figure skaters in ice dance competitions, in which the ice dancers skated "a dance of their own creation to dance music they have selected for the designated rhythm(s)".Rulebook, p. 90 It was normally the second of three programs in the competition, sandwiched between the compulsory dance (CD) and the free dance (FD). The rhythm(s) and type of music required for the OD changed every season, and were selected by the International Skating Union (ISU) before the start of the season. The ice dancers were free to choose their own music and choreography (within the specified constraints) and to create their own routines. Giaan Leigh Rooney, OAM (born 15 November 1982) is an Australian former competitive swimmer and television personality.
