Jonas Grimås
Jonas Grimås (born 7 August 1958) is a Swedish film and television director, based in London since 1988. He was educated at the ''Dramatiska Institutet'' in Stockholm, and then the Royal College of Art in London. In 1988 he won the BAFTA Film Award for best short film with ''Artisten''. He was also nominated in 1995 for best short film with ''Marooned''. In 2011 he was named "Cultural Personality of the Year" by the StockholmsKultur Foundation. Grimås started out working on Swedish soap-operas, but has made a name for himself making British crime dramas. He was a regular contributor to ITV’s '' Heartbeat'', having directed 30 episodes. He has also directed episodes of ''Hamish Macbeth'', '' Silent Witness'', and '' Second Sight: Kingdom of the Blind'' starring Clive Owen. While based in London he has also taken on Swedish projects, directing two episodes of the TV series '' Wallander'', and the adaptations of two Camilla Läckberg novels ''Predikanten'' (" The Preacher") and ... Jean Edith Camilla Läckberg Eriksson (; born August 30, 1974) is a Swedish crime writer. As of the early-2010s, her work has been translated into more than 40 languages in 60 countries. She has been called "the rock star of Nordic noir." Writing technique Läckberg considers herself a crime writing specialist since discovering such literature on her father's bookshelf at a young age. It has remained a fascination for her ever since. Läckberg's books have received special praise for detail and "in-depth characterization". Fredrik Von Sydow
The von Sydow murders, one of Sweden's most notorious criminal cases, occurred on 7 March 1932 in Stockholm. Events On the night of 7 March 1932, Swedish politician Hjalmar von Sydow, his cook Karoline Herou, and his maid Ebba Hamn were all found beaten to death at Sydow's town house at Norr Mälarstrand in Stockholm. The bodies of Sydow and Herou were found in Herou's room; Hamn lay dead in Sydow's room. From the outset, it was presumed the murder weapon was an iron pipe, bought the day before the murders by Sydow's son, Fredrik von Sydow, but it was later determined that a flatiron, missing after the murders, was the real murder weapon. A young niece of Sydow's late wife, who also lived at the home, discovered the bodies. ''Wallander'' () is a Swedish television series adapted from Henning Mankell's Kurt Wallander novels, starring Krister Henriksson in the title role. The first season of thirteen films was produced in 2005 and 2006, with one taken directly from a novel and the remainder with new storylines suggested by Mankell. The second season of thirteen films was shown between 2009 and 2010. The stories are set in Ystad, Skåne near the southern tip of Sweden.
