Jon St. James
Jon St. James is an American guitarist, songwriter–composer, producer and recording engineer. His Casbah Recording Studio was a part of Orange County, California's new music scene in the late 1970s and early to mid-1980s. St. James' first album was as leader–frontman–songwriter of the progressive rock group French Lick. St James was a pioneer of techno pop and dance music, using Moog synthesizers, electronic effects, and tape loops. St. James lived in France for two years, studying Musique concrète with French composers. There he first used Revox A77 tape machines to create ambient electronic textures. Upon returning from France, St. James started the electronic pop group Q with Stacey Swain ( Stacey Q), Dan Van Patten from Berlin and John Van Tongeren. Red Flag (band)
Red Flag is a synthpop act founded in 1984 in San Diego by brothers Chris and Mark Reynolds. After the death of Mark in 2003, Chris has continued as a solo act since 2007 under the name Red Flag. History Hailing from Liverpool, England, and after growing up there, the brothers moved to locations such as Montreal and Seattle, following their father's itinerant job. In 1979, the family settled in California, arriving first in Los Angeles. The brothers first started playing electronic music in 1982, when Mark Reynolds bought a Roland Juno-60 synthesizer over a guitar on a trip to a music store. Anything Box is an electronic/synthpop musical group originally from Paterson, New Jersey, and now based in Long Beach, California. Formed in 1986, they are best known for their 1989 single "Living in Oblivion". They also garnered some attention for releasing an album entirely in MP3 format in 2003. John B. Shaffer III (born June 25, 1968), known by his stage name Candyman, is an American rapper and record producer. He is best known for his hit single " Knockin' Boots". Candyman appears in the front row on N.W.A. and the Posse's 1987 album cover. Kara Wethington, known by the stage name Katalina, is a pop/dance artist who was signed to Thump Records. She is mostly known for her hit single "D.J. Girl" from her sole album ''Sonic Groove'' (1996). The album also spawned two more singles, "Sonic Groove" and "You'll Be My Future", but neither found much success on the charts. Bardeux is an American dance duo from the 1980s. The group was formed in 1986 and consisted of Stacy "Acacia" Smith and Tairrie B. History Their first single, "Three Time Lover", went to No. 10 on ''Billboard'''s Hot Dance Singles Sales chart. New Wave Music
