Jon D. Glassman
Jon David Glassman (born January 8, 1944) is a former U.S. State Department official. He is best known for having authored the "White Paper" on Communist intervention in El Salvador published by the U.S. State Department in 1981. Glassman also served as Deputy National Security Advisor for former Vice President Dan Quayle. Glassman currently works as Director of Government Operations, at Northrop Grumman Corporation. The United States ambassador to Afghanistan is the official diplomatic representative of the United States to Afghanistan. In the wake of the 2021 fall of Kabul to the Taliban, the U.S. Embassy in Kabul transferred operations to Doha, Qatar. James Maurice Ealum
James Maurice Ealum (December 30, 1930 – April 8, 2023) was an American diplomat who was a career Foreign Service Officer. He served as Chargé d'Affaires ad interim in Afghanistan from March 1986 until September 1987. Ealum was born in Altus, Oklahoma on December 30, 1930.
