Jon Cooper (ice Hockey)
Jonathan D. Cooper (born August 23, 1967) is a Canadian-American professional ice hockey coach who is the head coach for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (NHL). Cooper won back-to-back Stanley Cup championships in 2020 and 2021 as the Lightning head coach, and is currently the longest-tenured coach in the NHL. Early life Cooper was born in Prince George, British Columbia. He played high school hockey at Notre Dame in Wilcox, Saskatchewan. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Hofstra University in 1989. Despite his prior lacrosse experience being that of the box variety, he was a field lacrosse letterman in each of the first four years of John Danowski's tenure as the varsity program's head coach. An attackman who eventually transitioned into a midfielder, Cooper scored 74 goals with 25 assists for 99 points and was a member of East Coast Conference championship teams as a junior and senior. Jon Cooper (American Football)
Jon Cooper (born October 1, 1986) is an American football coach and former player who is currently the offensive line coach at North Texas. He played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Minnesota Vikings as a center. He played college football at Oklahoma and was signed by the Vikings in 2009. Early years Cooper attended Fort Collins High School in Fort Collins, Colorado, where he was a three-year starter and letterman. He captured team MVP honors his senior season and was named Offensive Player of the Year in the Front Range Conference. College career Cooper joined the Oklahoma Sooners football team in 2005. He played in eleven games, starting two, for the team as a freshman. In his second start, he suffered a dislocation and break in his right ankle at Texas Tech and missed the remainder of the season. Jonathan Javell Cooper (born January 19, 1990) is a former American football guard. He was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals seventh overall in the 2013 NFL Draft. He played college football at North Carolina, where he earned All-American honors. He also spent time with the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins, and Oakland Raiders. Early years A native of Wilmington, North Carolina, Cooper attended John T. Hoggard High School in Wilmington, where he played football and competed in wrestling and track. He played football as a guard, but also saw time at defensive end. In his senior year, he paved the way for three players who rushed for 600 yards or more, while Hoggard won the state 4-A championship with a 16–0 record. Jonathan Paul Cooper (22 September 1962 – 18 September 2021) was a British barrister and human rights activist, described by ''The Guardian'' journalist Owen Boycott as "at the forefront of efforts to decriminalise homosexuality around the world". He practised at Doughty Street Chambers and edited the '' European Human Rights Law Review''. In 2011, he co-founded the Human Dignity Trust, a UK-based charity that focuses on strategic litigation against the criminalization of homosexuality worldwide, and served as its director until 2016.
