JonArno Lawson
JonArno Lawson is a Canadian writer who has published many books for children and adults, was born in Hamilton, Ontario and raised in nearby Dundas. He now lives in Toronto, Ontario, with his wife and three children. Career and education Lawson has a BA in English Literature from McGill University. He also studied briefly at St. John's College (Annapolis/Santa Fe), and at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. He has taught children's poetry in the Master of Arts in Children’s Literature Program at Simmons College, Boston, and at iSchool at UBC. He has been recognized for his nonsense poetry. Recognition and awards Lawson has won The Lion And The Unicorn Award for Excellence in North American Poetry four times, in 2007, 2009, 2013, and 2014. The books were "Enjoy It While It Hurts," "A Voweller's Bestiary," "Black Stars In A White Night Sky," and "Down In The Bottom Of The Bottom Of The Box." Hamilton, Ontario
Hamilton is a port city in the Canadian province of Ontario. Hamilton has a population of 569,353, and its census metropolitan area, which includes Burlington and Grimsby, has a population of 785,184. The city is approximately southwest of Toronto in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). Amjad Jaimoukha ( Circassian: Жэмыхъуэ Амджэд, ; sometimes quoted as "Амыщ", the Circassian personal name) was a Circassian writer, publicist and historian, who wrote a number of books on North Caucasian – specifically Circassian and Chechen – culture and folklore. Sherwin Tjia is a Canadian artist, and medical illustrator. He is the author of several graphic novels. His latest ''Plummet (novel), Plummet'' was listed on the CBC News, ''CBC'''s list of recommended winter reads, for 2020. According to ''The Globe and Mail'', in 2010, Tija was known as the creator of Toronto's strip spelling bee scene. In strip spelling bees players who spell words wrong have to start removing some of their music, accompanied by burlesque strip-tease music. In 2014 the ''New York Daily News'' described how Tija introduced porn karaoke to the New York area. In porn karaoke small teams have to improvise dialogue sung over silent clips of pornography.
