Jokelan Kisa
Jokelan Kisa (abbreviated JoKi) is a sports club from Jokela, Finland. The club was formed in 1931 and in its early years specialised in athletics, gymnastics and skiing followed later by boxing, weight lifting and pesäpallo. Today the club has 4 sections covering skiing, football, volleyball and badminton. The men’s football team currently plays in the Nelonen (Fourth Division) and their home ground is at the Jokelan kenttä. In total JoKi has around 450 members. Background JoKi’s men’s team has competed in the lower divisions of the Finnish football league. They have had mixed results in the last decade and they did not participate in the 2008 season. However, a year later in 2009 they closely missed out on promotion to the Vitonen (Fifth Division) finishing only 1 point behind FC Loviisa and Lahen Pojat JS. Jokela
Jokela () is one of the three administrative centers in the Finnish municipality Tuusula. It has a population of around 6,000 residents. The Jokela School Centre and the Jokela railway station serve the community. Many residents commute to the capital of Finland, Helsinki, which is about away. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. Futsal
Futsal is a football-based game played on a hardcourt, hard court smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side football and Indoor soccer, indoor football. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted. Unlike some other forms of indoor soccer, it is played on a hard court surface marked by lines; walls or boards are not used. It is played with a smaller, harder, lower-bounce ball than football. FC Loviisa is a football club from Loviisa, Finland. The club was formed in 1992 and its home ground is at the Loviisan keskuskenttä, which can accommodate 500 spectators. Background The club was founded in 1992, following the amalgamation of the Loviisan Tor and Loviisan Riento football sections. Vitonen
Vitonen or V divisioona is the sixth level in the Finnish football league system and comprises 228 teams. The V divisioona was introduced in 1973 and in the mid-1990s became known as the Vitonen (''Number Five'' in English and ''Femman'' in Swedish). The competition There are 228 clubs in the Vitonen, divided in 22 groups of 7 to 19 teams each representing a geographical area. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club normally plays the others twice, once at their home ground and once at that of their opponents. The exception is the 19 team Keski-Suomi division where teams play each other once. The Finnish football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for club football in Finland. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Pesäpallo (; sv, boboll, both names literally meaning "nest ball", colloquially known in Finnish as pesis, also referred to as Finnish baseball) is a fast-moving bat-and-ball sport that is often referred to as the national sport of Finland and has some presence in other countries including Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Australia, and Canada's northern Ontario (the latter two countries have significant Nordic populations).
