Joint Forces Command (Sweden)
Joint Forces Command ( sv, Operativa insatsledningen, OPIL), was a senior command staff within the Swedish Armed Forces which operated from 2000 to 2005. The staff was located in Uppsala Garrison in Uppsala. The Joint Forces Command managed allocated joint capabilities from the three armed services. History In connection with the changed management organization and the restructuring of the Swedish Armed Forces towards an operational defense, the Joint Forces Command was established on 1 July 2000. It thus took over most of the tasks previously served by the three military area staffs, the operational management in the Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters, as well as the Army, Navy and Air Force tactical staffs. With the establishment of Joint Forces Command, the staff of leading operational and tactical activities was reduced from nearly two thousand people to about 270. Näsbypark is a district in Täby Municipality, north of Stockholm, Sweden. Geography Näsbypark is located in the extreme southeastern part of the municipality next to Stora Värtan, an inlet of the Baltic Sea. Tony Stigsson
Major General Stig Kent Tony Stigsson (born 6 November 1956) is a former Swedish Army officer, former head of the Joint Forces Command of the Swedish Armed Forces. Until 2005, Stigsson was also president of the Swedish Wrestling Federation. Stigsson was arrested in early 2005 on suspicion of rape, spousal abuse and mishandling of top secret classified documents. He was convicted of spousal abuse on 6 July 2005 and sentenced to 6 months of prison for two counts of assault, which was later reduced to three months on appeal. Stigsson was relieved of all duties at the Swedish Armed Forces, while the government disciplinary board ( Statens ansvarsnämnd) was reviewing whether Stigsson was to be dismissed from the Swedish Armed Forces. Lieutenant General Jan Bertil Gustav Jonsson (22 September 1952 – 11 November 2021) was a senior Swedish Air Force officer. Jonsson served as Inspector General of the Air Force from 1998 to 2000, as head of the Joint Forces Command from 2000 to 2007 as well as the Commandant General in Stockholm from 2006 to 2007. Early life Jonsson was born on 22 September 1952 in Bräcke, Sweden, the son of captain Bertil Jonsson and his wife Yvonne (née Ölund). He was gliding as a 15-year-old in Halmstad and enrolled at the Swedish Air Force Flying School in Ljungbyhed in 1970. Career Military career Jonsson served as sergeant pilot (''fältflygare'') and was assigned to Skaraborg Wing (F 7) from 1971 to 1978. Coastal Fleet
The Coastal Fleet ( sv, Kustflottan, Kfl) was until 1994 a Swedish Navy authority with the main task of training the naval ships commanders and crews. After the formation of the authority Swedish Armed Forces in 1994, the Coastal Fleet remained as a unit until 2000. Enköping is a locality and the seat of Enköping Municipality, Uppsala County, Sweden with 30,000 inhabitants in 2018. Geography Enköping is situated near Lake Mälaren, about 78 km west of Stockholm.
