Joint Account (TV Series)
''Joint Account'' is a British television sitcom produced by the BBC. Starring Hannah Gordon and Peter Egan, the series followed the Braithwaites, a married couple. Belinda Braithwaite was the breadwinner, a bank manager, whilst David was a house-husband. The sitcom revolved around the mismatched pair and the role reversal of their domestic situation. Two series were transmitted on BBC1 between 26 January 1989 and 21 May 1990. Don Webb (playwright)
Don Webb is a playwright and script writer based in the UK. He has written for British TV and the West End and is currently working on a novel for children. Biography Don Webb started writing fairly early in life. His first ventures were into radio plays produced in Manchester for BBC Radio 4 by Tony Cliff in the 1980s and he attracted comment and praise for the strong industrial plays drawing on his industrial background and experience. ''Centre Circle'' and ''Designing Alternatives'' were ahead of their time and illustrated property developers preying on small town centre football clubs. Sitcom
A sitcom, a portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. Sitcoms can be contrasted with sketch comedy, where a troupe may use new characters in each sketch, and stand-up comedy, where a comedian tells jokes and stories to an audience. Sitcoms originated in radio, but today are found mostly on television as one of its dominant narrative forms. A situation comedy television program may be recorded in front of a studio audience, depending on the program's production format. The effect of a live studio audience can be imitated or enhanced by the use of a laugh track. Critics disagree over the utility of the term "sitcom" in classifying shows that have come into existence since the turn of the century. Lill Roughley
Lilian Roughley (born 1949), best known as Lill Roughley, is an English actress who has appeared on British television since the 1970s. Her notable roles include Alice in the first series of ''Mulberry (TV series), Mulberry'', and as Ella Dawkins in ''My Hero (British TV series), My Hero''. In the 1980s and 1990s, Roughley also worked often with Victoria Wood, playing a variety of roles in Wood's various comedy series for the BBC. Monaural or monophonic sound reproduction (often shortened to mono) is sound intended to be heard as if it were emanating from one position. This contrasts with stereophonic sound or ''stereo'', which uses two separate audio channels to reproduce sound from two microphones on the right and left side, which is reproduced with two separate loudspeakers to give a sense of the direction of sound sources. John Bird (actor)
John Bird (born 22 November 1936) is an English satirist, actor and comedian, known for his work in television satire, including many appearances with John Fortune. Early life John Bird was born in Bulwell, Nottingham, and attended High Pavement Grammar School, Nottingham. While studying at King's College, Cambridge, he met John Fortune. Bird became well known during the television satire boom of the 1960s, appearing in ''That Was The Week That Was'', the title of which was coined by Bird.
