Johns River is a locality in the Mid-Coast Council of New South Wales. Johns River is approximately 275 km from the state capital, Sydney. At the 2016 census it had a population of 322. Geography Johns River is bounded to the north by Middle Brother National Park and Crowdy Bay National Park to the East. The rural locality of Stewarts River, New South Wales is to the west and the Pacific Ocean to the east. The dominant land features of Johns River include Middle Brother and South Brother hills. Johns River is ironically located on Stewarts River which feeds into Watson Taylors Lake. The Pacific Highway and North Coast railway line both pass through Johns River. Port Macquarie is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. It is represented by Leslie Williams of the Liberal Party. North Coast Railway Line, New South Wales
The North Coast Line is the primary rail route in the Mid North Coast and Northern Rivers regions of New South Wales, Australia, and forms a major part of the Sydney–Brisbane rail corridor. The line begins at Maitland and ends at Roma Street railway station in Brisbane, although freight services terminate at the yard at Acacia Ridge on the outskirts of Brisbane. Along the way, the railway passes through the towns of Dungog, Gloucester, Wingham, Taree, Kendall, Wauchope, Kempsey, Macksville, Nambucca Heads, Urunga, Sawtell, Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Casino and Kyogle. After the standard gauge line ends at Acacia Ridge, it forms a dual gauge line into Brisbane, running alongside parts of the Beenleigh railway line. Pacific Highway is a national highway and major transport route along the central east coast of Australia, with the majority of it being part of Australia's Highway 1. The highway and its adjoining Pacific Motorway between Brisbane and Brunswick Heads and Pacific Motorway between Sydney and Newcastle links the state capitals of Sydney in New South Wales with Brisbane in Queensland, approximately paralleling the Tasman Sea of the South Pacific Ocean coast, via Gosford, Newcastle, Taree, Port Macquarie, Kempsey, Coffs Harbour, Grafton, and Ballina. Additionally, between Brunswick Heads and Port Macquarie (excepting for a short stretch around Coffs Harbour), the road is also signed as Pacific Motorway, but has not been legally gazetted as such. Stewarts River, a mostly perennial stream of the Mid North Coast region, is located in New South Wales, Australia. Course and features Stewarts River rises on the northern slopes of Big Nellie within Coorabakh National Park, west of the village of Hannam Vale, and flows generally east by south and then east, joined by the Camden Haven River, before reaching its mouth at Watson Taylors Lake, south of Camden Haven. Geography Since 1984, federal electoral division boundaries in Australia have been determined at redistributions by a redistribution committee appointed by the Australian Electoral Commission. Middle Brother National Park
Middle Brother National Park is a protected area of 1830 hectares, situated in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales. The nearest large town is Laurieton. The high rainfall and volcanic soils produce outstanding eucalyptus forest and rainforest. Large Flooded Gum and Blackbutt grow in sheltered areas. The national park was formed to protect the two largest (by volume) coastal black beech trees - Bird Tree and Benaroon. Scientists believe that the bird tree is over 300 years old. It reaches an impressive size of 69 meters in height and 11 meters in circumference of the tree. For members of the Aboriginal people of Birpai, who are the traditional owners of the land, Middle Brother National Park has significant cultural importance.
