John Taylor (English Rugby Union)
John Thomas Taylor (1877–1951) was a rugby union international who represented England from 1897 to 1905, and at club level for Castleford RUFC and West Hartlepool R.F.C. He also captained his country. Early life John Taylor was born on 26 May 1877 in Whitwood Mere, Castleford, Yorkshire. Castleford
Castleford is a town within the City of Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England. It had a population of 45,106 at a 2021 population estimate. Historically in the West Riding of Yorkshire, to the north of the town centre the River Calder joins the River Aire and the Aire and Calder Navigation. The Scotland national rugby union team represents Scotland in men's international rugby union and is administered by the Scottish Rugby Union. The team takes part in the annual Six Nations Championship and participates in the Rugby World Cup, which takes place every four years. John Daniell (cricketer)
John Daniell, (12 December 1878 – 24 January 1963) was an international rugby union player for England and a first-class cricketer for Somerset and Cambridge University Cricket Club. Daniell achieved international success at rugby and was an international selector and a prominent administrator in the game for many years. He was president of the Rugby Football Union for two seasons from 1945 to 1947. His longer playing career was as a cricketer: he was captain of Somerset for 13 of the 15 seasons in which first-class cricket was played between 1908 and 1926, acted as occasional secretary and general organiser for the county over many other years, and was a national selector for the England cricket team. Early career Daniell was born in Bath, Somerset. Athletic Ground, Richmond
Built in 1886, and located in Richmond upon Thames, London, the Athletic Ground is a rugby ground, managed by Richmond Athletic Association, home to Green King IPA Championship sides Richmond and London Scottish. The first team pitch has a stand capable of seating around 1,000 people, though in the past temporary stands have been erected in the considerable space around the pitch to boost the seated capacity. Lower league side, Old Tonbridgians RFC, also play home games at the Athletic Ground. As well as rugby, a small football team by the name of Mortlake FC play at this ground.
