John Sneed
John Law Sneed (1861 in Shelby County, Tennessee – December 27, 1898 in Jackson, Tennessee) was a Major League Baseball outfielder. He played all or part of three seasons in the major leagues. Sneed debuted in the major leagues in , appearing in 27 games for the Indianapolis Hoosiers of the American Association. After playing several years of minor league baseball, Sneed returned to the AA in with the Toledo Maumees. An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases.
